Ederson confesses Alisson’s supremacy

Timothy Aiyeku

Brazilian and Manchester goalkeeper Ederson has confessed that his countryman and Liverpool stopper Alisson Becker is a step ahead of him.

With both goalkeepers getting a call for the Brazilian national team, Ederson admits he cannot withstand the competition from Liverpool star as the first choice for the national side.

The 26-year-old Liverpool goalie has kept the post for the South American side with about 32 international caps to his name, way above the one cap for the Man City stopper.

Alisson was in charge for Brazil at the Russia 2018 World Cup and has the edge above Ederson at the country side.

With two games against Saudi Arabia and Argentina lined up for the former World Cup winners, the duty have been shared with Ederson expected to take the stand for the first and Alisson for the big one against another South American side.

Describing Alisson as his friend, the 25-year-old City stopper noted the similarities he has got with his countryman, stating that he has got a very positive start of the season.

However, he is happy to have been selected to represent his country and also to play alongside Alisson.

Both players had clashed when City travelled to Liverpool for the big Premier League game but none of the keepers conceded a goal in the game.
