The latest statement from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp might be one to regret if taken seriously by those concerned.

The German manager who is frustrated at the how the stressful fixture his side have endured lamented why players will not be allowed to have some rest.

Before the international break, Liverpool had played seven difficult games in 23 days and it’s unbelievable to the manager who is surprised his side still could still earn 20 points in the Premier League after 8 games.

But referring to the UEFA Nations League which would be played during the international breaks, Klopp said it is “the most senseless competition in the world”

He noted that he will have some time to rest but that cannot be said of the players who will have to obey their clarion calls and return again for club football.

According to Klopp, players need proper rest to refresh because the game will not be played without them.

The German says efforts to have national team managers leave out a number of players in their fixtures will be rejected because everyone wants to win like him.

Klopp praised his team for being on a level that has ensured their unbeaten streak in the league.
