Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken of the comparison between Sergio Aguero and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah ahead of the clash between the two clubs on Sunday.
He described the Liverpool player as being an excellent one but is not convinced he falls in the ranks where his player belongs.
Guardiola noted that Aguero has shown consistency over a long period and that must be seen of the Egyptian before he can earn a comparison with the Argentine striker.
Both players have got themselves firing for their various sides over the years but much has not been seen of the Liverpool striker who has been goal shy so far in the current campaign.
Salah scored 44 times in all competitions for the Reds earning him the golden boot last season while Aguero is the second highest scoring foreign player in the history of the Premier League and he is currently ranked amongst the first 10 highest goal scorers of all time.
This made the former Barcelona manager to hold the opinion that former Chelsea star must earn some level of consistency to be able to match up.
He, however, gave Salah the chance to achieve more feats in the league owing to his younger age and the ability he has in scoring goals.
Guardiola is not bothered but only confident that the Egyptian will still score despite living in his shadows this season without convincing performance yet.
