Premier League giants Arsenal take on Qarabag FC of Azerbaijan in a Europa League Group E clash on Thursday evening with the hope of extending their winning run to eight games.
The Gunners have won the past seven games in all competitions and they have a chance to make it eight wins from as many games with a victory over their Azerbaijani opponents as the club gets to grips with the new managerial dispensation of Spanish tactician Unai Emery.
The former Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Valencia and Sevilla boss started his Gunners reign with successive Premier League defeats against champions Manchester City and Chelsea.
Arsenal recovered from those defeats and are currently on a 7-game winning run.
Ahead of the Qarabag game, Unai Emery is expected to rest some players from the last game against London rivals Watford in the Premier League.
He’s expected to make as much as eight changes to the Watford starting XI.
Mesut Ozil, Rob Holding and Alexandre Lacazette could be the only survivors from the weekend’s game against Watford.
First team players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Aaron Ramsey and the injured Petr Cech will miss the game.
Starting XI: Leno; Lichtsteiner, Sokratis, Holding, Kolasinac; Guendouzi, ElNeny; Iwobi, Ozil, Welbeck; Lacazette.
