Premier League side Manchester United have reportedly been linked with a move for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic ahead of the January transfer window.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been very vocal about his need for centre-back reinforcement and it seems he might get his wish when the transfer window opens in the New Year.
According to a report from popular Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milenkovic is the Portuguese tactician’s number one defensive target in the transfer window.
It further revealed that the Serbian international defender is rated at around €40m.
He was part of the Serbia squad that crashed out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia at the group stage.
The European nation finished in third position in Group E behind group leaders Brazil and Switzerland.
The 6ft 5ins centre-back has also been linked with a move to other European giants like Premier League champions Manchester City and Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho needs all the help he can get in the transfer market after his team’s underwhelming start to the new season.
The Red Devils are winless in both the last four home games and the last four games in all competitions.
