Long-term Arsenal target Hector Herrera has reportedly been linked with a transfer to North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the New Year.
The next transfer window opens in the New Year and FC Porto midfielder Hector Herrera could be Mauricio Pochettino’s first signing of this season.
Pochettino and Tottenham when they became the first team to go through a summer transfer window without signing any player.
That’s about to change according to a report from popular Portuguese news portal A Bola.
The media outlet claims that Tottenham have made a bid of around €8m for the FC Porto star.
It remains to be seen whether the Portuguese champions would be ready to do a deal with Tottenham.
Hector Herrera had previously been linked with a transfer to Arsenal but the move didn’t materialise.
The former Pachuca FC of Mexico midfielder is one of the longest-serving players in the FC Porto.
The Mexican international moved to Portugal from Mexico in 2013.
He has five goals in 70 appearances for El Tri since he made his debut against El Salvador in October 2012.
Hector Herrera was also part of the Mexico team that won the gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games and has represented his country at two FIFA World Cup tournaments (2014 and 2018).
