How David Luiz became a better player

David Luiz is one player that has rediscovered himself since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri in the summer, helping the Chelsea side to be strong title contenders this season.

According to Chelsea legend, Pat Nevin, this has been able to happen due to the full trust that has been given to the Brazilian defender.

He said one thing that is obvious is the fact that Sarri has not attempted to enforce any changes on Luiz into something he is not comfortable with but simply helping him to become the player he wants to be.

He praised Sarri for ensuring that the players, including Eden Hazard and Pedro, are in the best version of themselves.

The legend turned pundit is therefore not surprised at the resurgence of the player knowing the impact of the manager on him.

Nevin recalled the 1-1 draw against Liverpool and affirmed that the player deserves the man of the match award for his display in that game.

Luiz is currently having his second spell at the Stamford Bridge having left in days of Antonio Conte.

It has been suggested that the Brazilian has never had it good as he is currently having it under the former Napoli manager.
