New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has reportedly made Napoli midfielder Piotr Zelinski as his number one target in his bid to replace contract rebel, Aaron Ramsey.

The Welsh international is on course to exit the club during the January transfer window or next summer after the Gunners withdrew their contract offer for him.

Aaron Ramsey has less than a year left on his current contract but his request for a huge salary led the club to withdraw the ‘double your money’ offer given to him.

He has since been linked with a January move to clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United.

Another option is a free transfer move at the end of his contract in June 2019 and he’s also free to talk to foreign clubs about a potential free transfer as from the new year.

The potential exit of Ramsey has led Unai Emery to identify Polish international Zelinski as his replacement according to Sport Mediaset.

It remains to be seen whether Italian Serie A giants Napoli will be ready to do a deal for the 27-year-old.

Piotr Zelinski has been an important player for Napoli since his move from fellow top-flight side Udinese in 2016.

He has made over 100 appearances for his team in two seasons.
