Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard has played down the threat posed by Liverpool and thinks there are reasons why they should not be taken seriously as it is now.
Liverpool began this season on a high note and were only slowed down at the Stamford Bridge when they played a 1-1 draw against Chelsea at the weekend.
The Anfield boys have therefore been tipped as a strong title contender this season having come close to it last season.
But former player thinks they should not be taken seriously as title contender because they lack winning experience.
The Red legend who is very familiar with the team argued that this limitation can hunt them later on as the season progresses.
Gerrard had told BBC 5 Live that the current Liverpool team cannot be compared with the ones he played in because of their lack of winning experience.
Admitting that the current Liverpool team is one with great quality, the Rangers boss stressed that they can only be helped if every player remains fit and healthy.
He noted that aside from the lack of winning experience, the current team can match the one he played with because they have got good players who can compete at that level.2
