The Reds were settling for another defeat to Chelsea in yesterday’s clash but it took Daniel Sturridge’s individual brilliance to help the team avoid another embarrassing defeat at Stamford Bridge.
Despite scoring the most important goal for Jurgen Klopp’s men, the England international didn’t praise himself instead he heaped praise on their goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
The Brazilian had another incredible display for the Reds last night as he was on the ground to prevent Willian, Morata and Jorginho from scoring.
The highlight of his performance was his point-blank save to stop his compatriot Willian from putting the ball into the net in a one-to-one situation.
Though he conceded the first goal of the encounter, his overall display for the Reds was inspiring and lively.
Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the 29-year-old attacker tagged the Brazilian goalie a ‘Top drawer’
According to him, Alisson has shown why he costs Liverpool so much during the summer window. He admitted that Allison’s display deserves a clean sheet but it was unfortunate he was unable to achieve it.
“Top drawer. He had a great game. He was unfortunate not to get a clean sheet but he’s a world-class goalkeeper” the England international admitted.
Apart from Alisson, England’s outcast also reserve praise for the team’s defensive units.
According to him, the defenders were awesome against the Blues as they gave Chelsea’s strikers a run for their money.
