The Super Eagles of Nigeria will resume their quest for a place in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations when they host Libya in October.

The three-time African Champions started the qualifying series with a defeat to South Africa at the nest of champions in Abia state.

Many fans tipped the Eagles to have an easy ride over their South African counterpart but that wasn’t the case as they were stunned by the Bafana Bafana, who put two goals past Daniel Akpeyi.

Having lost to the South Africa side, Genort Rohr’s men have no option but to defeat Seychelles in the second fixture of the qualifying campaign earlier in the month(September).

The Super Eagles wasted no time before exercising their supremacy over the African minnow.

Ahmed Musa broke the deadlock in just fifteen minutes into the encounter while goals from Chidozie Awaziem (38th minute) and Ighalo (60th minute) ensured the Eagles returned to winning ways.

Up next for Nigeria is Libya’s challenge in a double-header affair. The first leg of the fixture will take place on the 13th of October in Nigeria and the reverse fixture is set to be held in Algeria — due to insecurity issues in Libya — three days later.

Both countries are yet to release their squad list ahead of the crunch tie but reports emanating from the West African country claim that Rohr is set to name his squad next week.

Let’s give you some players who should be considered by the Super Eagles head coach while compiling his list

Ebere Eze

Though this youngster plays for QPR — championship side, he is due for a call-up to the national team.

His blistering performances so far this season has caught the eyes of many top clubs in Europe and he could move

He might be the best player to feature in the No 10 position, should Mikel Obi retire from international duty before the end of the year.

He’s currently in great goalscoring form and that’s one of the reasons why Rohr needs to cap-tie him against Libya, else, he regrets losing him to Scotland.

Jordon Ibe

Like it or not, this 22-year-old winger is still useful and could be the perfect surprise package against Libya in two weeks time.

Having snubbed Sunday Oliseh’s approach two years ago, the former England youth international has shown his interest to represent his fatherland.

He’s currently in top form for Bournemouth, helping the Cherries to a bright start to the 2018-19 season. He was on target on Wednesday to help the team qualify to the next round of the Carabao Cup competition.

He’s got pace, tricks and long-range shooting accuracy. He is definitely going to be a handful for the Libyans to curtain.

Issac Success

After a turbulent period in his career, the former Granada star is beginning to show his qualities and prowess for Watford.

He was on target against Tottenham in midweek Carabao cup fixture, which ended in a defeat for the Vicarage Road outfits.

His physical appearance is one asset lacking in the current Eagles front line. Success has the power to out-muscle, bully any defenders.

He also possesses a great shooting accuracy and he could be the best man to partner Iheanacho in Rohr’s two-man attacking front line.
