Former Monaco midfield maestro Fabinho who joined Liverpool for £44 million has hardly received quality playing time with his new club, the reason being that he was deemed unfit to play the traditional YNWA style according to his manager Jurgen Klopp.
While many fans did not give in to his excuses, expecting the Brazilian to start rather than later, Klopp was hesitant to add him to the first team squad in a stern test against arch rivals, Chelsea.
The 24-year-old player joined the two bodies in the middle alongside, Naby Keita and James Milner to lock horns with Chelsea’s triumvirate in Cesc Fabregas, Matteo Kovacic and Ross Barkley.
Afterwards, it was glaring why the German had placed Fabinho in the reserves in recent games having lost the depth that was required of him.
While Klopp spoke about the Brazilian midfielder, no doubt he was outmatched by Chelsea’s players.
“It’s about positioning, it’s about reaction, it’s about spaces – defensively, closing them; offensively, use them.” Said Klopp.
After facing their first defeat at Anfield in the Carabao cup, Liverpool fans were not toothsome in their approach towards Fabinho as they took to Twitter, rage reviews of the Brazilian whom they initially thought would boss the midfield in a minute opportunity he gets as he did while he was in Monaco.

Liverpool will face Chelsea next week and from the Reds’ point of view, Klopp may not count on him after the disappointment on Wednesday.
