United players are made to choose between Mourinho and Pogba on Monday morning when the Red Devils manager decided to stripe Pogba off the captain armband.

It was reported via the Daily Star on Monday that Mourinho told the Frenchman he is no longer the club’s vice-captain in front of his teammates.

As expected, Mourinho’s decision was immediately met with grudges among the Red Devils players but as training began, reports claimed that all players were ‘happy’ with the gaffer’s decision.

The Mirror also added that senior players, who have been in the team long before the Frenchman re-joined them in 2016, are glad to see that they now have an opportunity to lead the team.

Though Mourinho revealed that his decision to demote the 25-year-old has nothing to do with his fall-out with the player, but the decision came immediately after Pogba questioned the gaffer’s tactical approach.

“The only truth is that I made the decision of Paul not to be the second captain any more but no fall-out, no problems at all.” Mourinho confessed.

There are many things that are not revealed to the press and until these issues are resolved, United fans will continue to see their team set many unwanted records as the season continues.

It is left to be seen who will become the club’s second captain on the long run. Juan Mata, David De Gea and Ashley Young are all capable of captaining the team, considering their experience and the years they’ve spent at Old Trafford.
