Manchester United were once again showed the reason they need to put their house in order, as soon as possible, as they were defeated by Championship side Derby County in yesterday’s Carabao Cup.

José Mourinho has had a season filled with off-field crises and that is affecting his team’s performances.

The Portuguese manager is said to have a cold relationship with Anthony Martial. He is also said to be having a not-too-friendly relationship with the club’s board members.

The climax of them all is the unending fall-out with Paul Pogba, whom he left out of his squad list in last night’s defeat to Frank Lampard tutored side.

Though United took the lead through Juan Mata’s goal after a wonderful run from Anthony Martial.

However, the lead didn’t last long as the visitor equalized in a fashionable way as Harry Wilson bend a well-taken free kick past Sergio Romero.

The visitor complete their miraculous comeback in the 67th minute after Sergio Romero was given his marching order having handled the ball outside his box.

Jack Marriott nodded the ball past Lee Grant, who came in for the red-carded Romero to have his debut appearance for the Red Devils.

Luckily for Mourinho and his men, Marouane Fellaini equalized with the last kick of the game as he nod home from Diogo Dalot’s whipping cross.

The game went straight to penalty shootouts but the Red Devils couldn’t progress to the next round as Phil Jones lost his spot kick to Scott Mason’s save big hand.

Lampard will definitely be a happy man for progressing to the next round of the competition at the expense of his former tutor José Mourinho.

As for the Portuguese, there is an urgent need to make things right with his players, else, he losses his two-year working relationship with the Old Trafford outfits sooner than expected.
