Liverpool have seen 7 wins overall, wrapping up 100% victories in all competitions despite seeing through two difficult test in Wembley Stadium against Tottenham and at Anfield against Paris Saint-Germain but would face a sterner test against Chelsea’s boss, Maurizio Sarri who has had a share of conservative style that dreads many clubs.
Klopp and Sarri may share a lot of things in common but the Reds have shown the best quality against difficult oppositions while many pundits already sidelined Chelsea from being title contenders this season.
Only Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are yet to face defeat in the league which means tonight would determine how strong the Reds are this season.
Both clubs will meet first on Wednesday when the Reds welcome the Blues in the Carabao cup before Chelsea welcome them in the Premier League during the weekend.
The 59-year-old manager may prioritize the Premier league above the Carabao cup knowing fully well that the Blues share same points with Man City but are in 3rd position due to goal difference.
Klopp has made his intention known about his rotation and approach in tonight’s encounter but his ambition and gesture towards playing against a team who understands his style could raise a few eyebrows.
He notably told the press in an interview that Chelsea should also be listed among title contenders.
While Klopp will hope to extend the victory to 8 in all competitions, he will need to strengthen his team to end the game with great success. A draw will see both players get to the extra-time, so at least one of the two must face first defeat tonight.
