Arsenal would miss out on a top-four finish despite their present brilliant run of results, that’s according to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

The Gunners recorded their fourth straight victory following their 2-0 victory over Everton on Sunday, however, Carragher believes they are not ready to compete for a place in among top four clubs.

Speaking to Sky Sport, the ex-Liverpool defender claimed that Manchester United and Arsenal are going to miss out in the race for a Champions League qualifying spot, considering the way both clubs have played so far this season.

He believes losing to Chelsea and Manchester City will go a long way to hunt Unai Emery’s side in their desire to qualify for next season’s Champions League competition.

He also predicted that Manchester United are likely to finish this season in the fifth position due to their inconsistent performance.

United ended last season as runner-up to Manchester City, but Carragher believes the Red Devils are not going to achieve such feat neither are they going to better their last season’s achievement.

Nonetheless, It’s too early to predict who and where a club will finish the season as we are just six games into the season.
