Former Arsenal star and Skysports pundit Charlie Nicholas has admitted that Arsenal could partway with Mesut Ozil in January, should the player fail to improve his performance with the North London club.
The Sky Sports pundits claimed the German international hasn’t been in fine form for the team since the start of the campaign and he could be sold out to either Manchester United or any Chinese Super League club who are ready to spend big on the player’s signature.
While analyzing the player’s performance against Everton yesterday, Nicholas said he won’t be surprised if the Gunners couldn’t keep the player beyond this season due to his recent uninspiring displays for the team.
Though the player played a major role in the play up that led to Aubameyang’s goal, Nicholas said the 29-year-old was far from convincing at the right flank of attack.
According to him, Turkish giants Fenerbahce are interested in his service, they might make a huge money offer to the Gunners for his signature in January.
United are also said to be monitoring the German’s situation at the Emirates Stadium as Mourinho is hoping to reunite with him at Old Trafford in the second half of the season.
Ozil has played five Premier League matches this season, scoring a goal and assisting once. He was equally on target against Vorskla in the Champions League last week to help his team to a 4-2 victory against the Ukrainian side.
