Ex-Liverpool player Robbie Keane his poised that he would fit into Liverpool’s current front three because he believes he plays like Roberto Firmino.
Republic of Ireland’s legend claims that Jurgen Klopp’s pattern is “a strike’s dream” and as such attackers would love to play under the manager due to his style.
Keane made 28 appearances for the YNWA side and registered seven goals in total after moving from Tottenham for £19 million plus add-ons.
Keane was a very fast player and he has a special talent for driving pass oppositions while with the ball.
As the all-time leading goal scorer with 68 goals with his national teams, he believes he would adapt so quickly to join triumvirate with Mo Salah and Saido Mane because he plays exactly like the Brazilian Firmino.
He spoke in Paddy Power’s 30th about his love for Liverpool’s style:
“The way the Firmino plays is very similar to my game. I like to drop off, in that number ten role, and if you’ve got two players who are that quick to play in on either side of you, it’s a striker’s dream.”
The Dubliner believes that what makes Liverpool special than others is how quick and direct they run against opponents which helps the Reds to create so many chances.
“We’ve seen it against top teams this week in Tottenham and PSG, they couldn’t deal with it. They create so many chances, they’re a horrible team to play against.”
