United eye Brazilian youngster even as Juventus winger remain Mourinho’s prime target

Manchester United have been linked with a surprise move for Brazilian starlet Lucas Paquette, 21.

The young midfield plays for Brazilian club Flamengo but his qualities and brilliant performances hasn’t gone unnoticed by many European giants.

It is said that PSG are ready to reignite their interest in the player’s signature, having seen their £35m bid rejected by Flamengo during the summer transfer window.

However, the Ligue 1 outfits are being joined by Barcelona and Manchester United in the race for the South American starlet.

According to Le10 Sport, the Red Devils are likely to beat their competitors to Paquette’s service in the next transfer window.

Though Flamengo vice-president Ricardo Lomba is adamant the youngster will remain at the club beyond this season, the French publication are tipping Mourinho to complete his swoop for the player in January.

Elsewhere, United are keenly interested in Brazilian winger Douglas Costa, who is on a four-match ban for spitting on Sassuaolo defender Federico Di Francesco last week.

The player’s attitude hasn’t gone down well with Juventus hierarchy and they are reportedly set to offload him in the next transfer market.

According to Calciomercato, United, Arsenal and City are in contention for his services.

It remains unknown if Mourinho would part way with Anthony Martial, so as to create space for the young Brazilian winger in the coming transfer market.
