Arsenal boss Unai Emery has finally hinted the Gunners fans that their favourite goalie is set for his debut.
The former Paris St-Germain manager failed to use the former Bayer Leverkusen goalie in the first five games of the season as he continues to put his trust in Petr Cech, who hasn’t been too impressive so far.
With the Europa League set to take centre stage on Wednesday, Unai Emery has told reporters he would make some changes to his team.
According to the Spaniard via the Express, Bernd Leno is certain to start the Europa League opener against Ukrainian side Vorskla on Thursday.
Jose Mourinho Wants To Sign These Three Players In Summer
Apart from Leno, some fringe players could be given the chance to start on Thursday. Alex Iwobi, who wasn’t listed in Emery’s matchday squad against Newcastle yesterday, is set to make a return to the starting XI on Thursday.
Danny Welbeck, Lucas Torreira and Stephan Lichtsteiner are all likely to start from the blast of referee’s whistle.
Emery also said his top aim is to begin the Europa League competition on bright note by defeating their Ukrainian opponents irrespective of the players he wants to use during the encounter.
Arsenal were defeated by Atletico Madrid in the Semifinal stage of the competition last season and Emery will be hoping to move a step further by winning the competition this season.
