Pogba and Mourinho’s reported rift has taken another direction, that’s according to caught offside in one of their Sunday reports.
The player signed a five-year contract with the Red Devils in the 2016-17 season but he might fail to see out the deal in 2021 as his relationship with Mourinho is far from cordial.
The Frenchman is being linked with a move to Barcelona during the last transaction period. He is also said to be Massimiliano Allegri’s prime target, when the next transfer window reopens in January, as the Italian hope to re-sign him so as to partner Cristiano Ronaldo in the second period of this season.
Though United hierarchy are set to block every offer for his signature in January, Caughtoffside are reporting that Pogba would remain at Old Trafford if Mourinho would be shown the exit door.
The media publication further disclosed that only the Portuguese manager has final say over the player’s stay at Old Trafford. Should Mourinho decide to leave Old Trafford this season, Pogba will renew his contract.
Should Mourinho decide to stay for another two years of his deal with the club, United fans might see Pogba leave Old Trafford by the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Mourinho boosted his chance of staying at Old Trafford for many seasons as he led his side to a 2-1 victory over Watford yesterday.
After a difficult start to the season, Mourinho and his men have now secured two-back-back victories for the first time in the 2018-19 season.
