Manchester United manager José Mourinho has rubbished claims that his star player Paul Pogba wanted to leave the team during last month’s transfer window.
It was reported that the Frenchman almost forced his move to Barcelona before the end of July but the move failed to push through before the window shut down.
However, the Portuguese tactician has denied reports that the former Juventus playmaker wants to end his ties with the Red Devils.
While speaking to the reporters after his team’s hard-fought victory against Watford last night, Mourinho confirmed that the player didn’t tell him about his decision to leave Old Trafford, so, everything reports from the media is nothing but mere rumours.
According to Mourinho, Pogba remains loyal to the former Premier League Champions and he’s ready to give his 100% to the team in their mission to reclaim the Premier League glory by the end of the current campaign.
Though Barcelona haven’t given up in their chase after the player’s signature, Mourinho is confident of keeping the Frenchman beyond this season as he remains one of the best midfielders in the League and beyond.
Juventus are also said to be keeping close tabs on Pogba’s situations at Old Trafford, hoping to make move for his service in January.
Having captured Cristiano Ronaldo, the Scudetto Champions have made the 25-year-old their prime target heading into the winter transfer market.
