Arsenal pick another valuable three points away from home earlier today as they narrowly defeated Newcastle at the St James Park.

Goals from Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil were enough to win the game for Unai Emery side, though, Clark scored a late consolation for the Magpies.

There are lots of talking points from the encounter, there are so some of the obvious and valuable lessons learnt:

Granit Xhaka Proves Doubters Wrong

The Swiss midfielder has come under intense criticism from the Gunners fans since the start of the season for his uninspiring performance.

However, the player responded brilliantly to his critics by scoring the first goal of the encounter from a direct kick.

Despite scoring the first goal, Xhaka most ensure today’s display wasn’t a fluke.

Petr Cech Still Uncomfortable With Emery’s Playing Style

For the fourth time this season, Petr Cech made another error as he almost gave away a goal to the Newcastle strikers.

The netminder is still adapting to new tactics, but so far, he’s looked uncomfortable in the new role.

Though he showed great reflexes and great control of his back four, the Czech goaltender needs to learn Emery’s tactical approach to games as soon as possible, else he lost his place to Bernd Leno who is can have the ball at his feet for long.
