Arsenal pick another valuable three points away from home earlier today as they narrowly defeated Newcastle at the St James Park.

Goals from Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil were enough to win the game for Unai Emery side, though, Clark scored a late consolation for the Magpies.

There are lots of talking points from the encounter, there are so some of the obvious and valuable lessons learnt:

Granit Xhaka Proves Doubters Wrong

The Swiss midfielder has come under intense criticism from the Gunners fans since the start of the season for his uninspiring performance.

However, the player responded brilliantly to his critics by scoring the first goal of the encounter from a direct kick.

Despite scoring the first goal, Xhaka most ensure today’s display wasn’t a fluke.

Petr Cech Still Uncomfortable With Emery’s Playing Style

For the fourth time this season, Petr Cech made another error as he almost gave away a goal to the Newcastle strikers.

The netminder is still adapting to new tactics, but so far, he’s looked uncomfortable in the new role.

Though he showed great reflexes and great control of his back four, the Czech goaltender needs to learn Emery’s tactical approach to games as soon as possible, else he lost his place to Bernd Leno who is can have the ball at his feet for long.

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny could be on his way out of North London when the winter transfer window reopens after he was transfer-listed at the club.

The Egyptian international star is surplus to requirements at Arsenal and the Gunners are open to the idea of selling him in the New Year.

According to the publication from The Sun via 101greatgoals, Leicester City are long-term admirers and the Foxes could make a move for him.

A bid of around £15m would be enough to sign him from the North London giants.

Mohamed Elneny joined the Gunners during the mid-season transfer window in 2016 from Swiss Super League side FC Basel in a deal reported to be worth £11.25m.

Since his transfer to North London, the 26-year-old has scored ten goals and provided eight assists in all competitions for the Gunners.

He has made 144 appearances for Arsenal.

Mohamed Elneny was recently part of the Egyptian team that reached the final of the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) before losing to eventual winners Cameroon.

He also represented Egypt at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

His country finished at the bottom of Group A behind Uruguay, tournament hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Ousmane Dembele

Exciting Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele faces a big fight to save his football career at the Nou Camp after he was handed an ultimatum to improve his disciplinary record or face the exit door.

The 21-year-old has failed to justify his hefty transfer fee since he signed for the Spanish La Liga champions during last summer’s transfer window.

Dembele became the most expensive teenager in world football when he joined Barcelona from German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of €105m plus €35m in add-ons.

The former Rennes player battled with fitness issues in his first campaign as a Barcelona player but he recovered to contribute his own part to a successful season under manager Ernesto Valverde.

Barcelona won both the Spanish La Liga and Spanish Copa Del Rey titles.

Ousmane Dembele then helped the French team win a second World Cup title at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

France manager Didier Deschamps led the team to victory via a 4-2 win over fellow European side Croatia.

Buoyed by the World Cup title, Dembele started his second Barcelona season well contributing six goals and two assists until recently when he started having disciplinary problems at the club.

Denis Suarez

Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez wants to stay at the club amidst transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the club when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

The 24-year-old has been a subject of transfer rumours involving Premier League sides such as Chelsea and Arsenal.

According to trusted media outlet ESPN via Metro, Denis Suarez has no intention of leaving Barcelona in the New Year.

It was further revealed that the Spanish international star favours a transfer that won’t take him out of Spain.

He has also been linked with Italian Serie A side Napoli who came close to signing him on two occasions when new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri was at the club.

The latest development is a big blow to Arsenal fans who thought they are almost certain to sign him when the transfer window reopens.

Several media reports had claimed that the Gunners were in the driving seat ahead of Chelsea and Napoli in the race to sign Denis Suarez.

He has hardly featured for Barcelona this season and that’s mainly due to the pre-season injury he sustained as well as the summer arrivals of Brazilian star Arthur and Chilean player Arturo Vidal.

Hector Herrera

North London giants Arsenal will have to see off competition from several European sides in the race for FC Porto midfielder Hector Herrera ahead of the winter transfer window.

The 28-year-old has less than a year left on his FC Porto contract thereby leading to talks over his future with the Portuguese champions.

According to the publication from trusted Portuguese media portal Record, the Gunners will have to fend off other interested sides like AS Roma, Inter Milan as well as the London duo of Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.

With less than one year remaining on his current deal, the Mexican international player can start to talk to foreign clubs about a possible free transfer as from the 1st of January.

Arsenal are in need of midfield reinforcements in the New Year as a result of the doubts over the long-term future of both Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed ElNeny.

Former Cardiff City star Ramsey is on his way out of Arsenal after the Gunners hierarchy withdrew their contract offer to him in September.

For ElNeny, reports claim that he’s surplus to requirements and that the North London giants are open to the idea of selling him when he

Pablo Fornals

North London giants Arsenal will activate the release clause in the contract of Villareal midfielder Pablo Fornals during the winter transfer window in the New Year.

This is according to the publication from popular English news outlet The Sun.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has identified the 22-year-old as his primary transfer target.

Pablo Fornals has a release clause of £17.9m in his current contract with the Yellow Submarines and the Gunners are ready to pay the said amount to secure his signing.

It was further revealed that midfielder Mohamed Elneny is surplus to requirements at Arsenal and that the Egyptian international star has been transfer-listed.

The 26-year-old is expected to leave the Emirates Stadium with fellow Premier League side Leicester City set to be interested in the former FC Basel midfielder.

The Foxes are long-term admirers of the player who’s likely to be sold for around £15m.

Funds from his sale would be used to fund the transfer of Pablo Fornals.

The two-cap Spanish international could follow in the footsteps of former Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla if he were to sign for the Gunners.

Atletico Madrid Enter January Race For Arsenal’s Nicolas Tagliafico

Nicolas Tagliafico

Atletico Madrid will have to plough through this first half of the season before signing a replacement for out-of-contract 32-year-old Filipe Luis.

The Brazilian native is out of contract at the end of the season, and failure to pick up a replacement at the turn of the year, they could run down in healthy play.

Nicolas Tagliafico is spot on to be signed by the Spanish giants in January from Eredivisie outfit Ajax.

The 26-year-old has stamped his name in the spotlight, given his defensive record in the Dutch outfit.

His well pillared as a strong wall in the backfield of Ajax, with enough plussed advantage as a passer.

Tagliafico has a pass completion rate of 86.1 per cent across all competitions for Ajax, since being shipped from Independiente earlier this year.

North London club Arsenal lodged an 8 million pounds bid for the 26-year-old at the end of October according to the Sun, after they suffered a heavy jam in their line of defence, taking severe hits from injury knocks to duo Nacho Monreal and Saed Kolasinac.

This has run down the Gunners defensive condition, and despite showing a strong squad, the fitting in of Granit Xhaka, who has difficulty tracking back and is easily walloped by faster attackers, puts them at a risk of crumbling that unbeaten streak.

With Atletico now in the fray, Arsenal have a fierce competitor for Tagliafico’s services, and fans fear they could be easily beaten to the chase.

Ex-Arsenal Player In Transfer Talks With AC Milan

Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has started talks with Italian Serie A giants AC Milan with a view to a move when the winter transfer window reopens in January.

Fabregas, 31, has been on the fringes of the first team at Chelsea since former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri took charge of the team in the summer.

The 59-year-old Italian tactician replaced compatriot Antonio Conte in the summer after the former Juventus boss was sacked despite winning this year’s FA Cup final via a 1-0 victory over rivals Manchester United in their final meeting at the Wembley Stadium in May.

Conte paid for his job in the wake of a lacklustre season which ended with a fifth-place finish on the Premier League table.

Fabregas was a big part of the Chelsea squad under Conte but he has seen his role reduce since the advent of Maurizio Sarri.

He has a Chelsea contract that runs until the end of this season and it doesn’t look like the club will offer him a new deal when the current one expires next summer.

Fabregas has been linked with a return to Arsenal as well as a move to AC Milan.

According to Italian news outlet calciomercato, AC Milan are in talks with the Spanish international player about a transfer to the San Siro.

Ousmane Dembele

Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly running out of patience with forward Ousmane Dembele who has failed to justify his hefty price tag in the colours of the Blaugrana.

According to the publication from popular Spanish newspaper Sport via The Sun, senior club officials have been left disappointed by his lack of discipline and they have identified his social circle of friends as the main reason behind his disciplinary issues.

Ousmane Dembele has endured a frustrating spell at Barcelona since he moved to the club last summer and that has led to talks about his long-term future at the club.

The former Rennes player has been a subject of transfer rumours to clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

He joined the Catalan club from German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of around €105m (£97m) plus €35m in add-ons.

Dembele largely struggled with injury in his first season with Barcelona but he recovered to be a part of the victorious French squad at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Arsenal have been linked with a transfer for him due to his relationship with the Gunners’ head of recruitment Sven Mslintat, while Liverpool are reportedly preparing a £85m for him.
