Manchester United were obviously interested in Juventus star player Paulo Dybala throughout the summer window but Mourinho was far from completing a move for his signature as United hierarchy failed to make an official move for the 24-year-old player.

Having missed out on the Argentine forward, José Mourinho has turned his attention to another Juventus star in the person of Brazilian winger Douglas Costa.

Costa joined the Turin outfits from Bayern Munich, on a season-long loan deal, in 2017 and he was awesome for the team helping them to a record seven consecutive Scudetto titles last season.

Having enjoyed the Brazilian’s importance throughout his first season at the Juventus Stadium, Massimiliano Allegri told his employers to sign him permanently, which was granted by the club’s hierarchy.

However, the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo might force the player to move out of Juventus before the end of the season as he is getting game-time so hard to get.

According to SportMediaSet, the Brazilian is being targeted by United and City as bother clubs want to improve their attacking prowess in the second half of this campaign.

The report further tipped United to beat his rival for his signature due to the fact that Anthony Martial could be heading out of Old Trafford in January.

United might need to pay nothing less than £80m for his signature in January to get his services.
