The goalkeeping coach of Chelsea football club spoke in an interview about Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper Alphonse Areola.
He claimed that Areola wanted to join Chelsea after PSG signed Gianluigi Buffon from Juventus.
The Blues were in need of a goalkeeper when Thibaut Courtois unsurprisingly refused to come back from his holiday in Russia after failing to renew his contract.
At that period, it was reported that Areola wanted to join Chelsea.
According to Lollichon in the report given concerning Areola:
“We had a lot of discussion this summer, in a very reasoned way” Said Lollichon
He also added that
“He wanted to come here but the decision was not my responsibility”
Lollichon stated clearly that it would have been a pleasure working with him.
Areola was really impressive in the encounter between France and Germany in the international Friendly where he made great saves stopping a few goalscoring opportunities that made him earn the man of the match.
Chelsea boast of four straight wins under club manager Maurizio Sarri who clearly stated he wanted Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao.
Chelsea has kept two clean sheet in four premier league matches and shared the same point with Liverpool but are 2nd place below the Reds who have higher goal difference.
The Blues will welcome Cardiff to Stamford Bridge next week and hope to continue their 100 per cent winning form.
