Arsenal and Uruguayan defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira could be nursing an injury before returning to the Emirates Stadium as he was pictured putting an ice pack on his leg during his side’s 4-1 victory over Mexico in a friendly match.

The newly signed player started the game but was withdrawn from the encounter after appearing to have picked up a knock during the encounter.

Though the length of the injury is yet to be disclosed, Arsenal fans are afraid they might miss the player’s services when they tackle Newcastle when the League resume in two weeks.

Torreira, 22, hasn’t gotten the nod from Unai Emery to start in any game played so far but he remains one of the most influential players in the team throughout the first month of the season.

His impressive performances off the bench against Cardiff City helped the Gunners to their first back-to-back victory this season and he’s being tipped by the North London fans to start their next game against the Magpies, should he remain fit for the encounter.

In other Arsenal’s injury news, Alex Iwobi is nearing a return to full fitness after missing three weeks of action.
The 22-year-old striker didn’t kit up for Cardiff clash due to his slight injury but the player’s dad revealed he would be back before international break comes to a close.
