Arsenal manager Unai Emery is keeping to his promise by giving seven Arsenal academy products the chance to train with the senior team this week.
During his unveiling ceremony some months ago, the former PSG boss promised to continue enhancing the growth of the club’s academy by promoting youngsters to the senior team so as to lay claim for regular action in his team.
Alex Iwobi, Jack Wilshere, Hector Bellerin, Maitland-Niles, Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, were some of Arsenal’s homegrown players who have tasted first team actions but there are many more coming.
Below are the profile of players who were invited by Emery to train with the senior team at the course of the week :
Emile Smith Rowe
The 18-year-old was wonderful for the Gunners in their pre-season match against Atletico Madrid and has been tipped for greatness by many Arsenal supporters. He might just be the best player to replace Mesut Ozil on the long run.
Tolaji Bola
The 19-year-old defender is a pacey and versatile player, who can comfortably play in any position at the back of the pitch.
He’s also a ball-player whose playing style suits Emery’s ‘play from the back’ tactics.
