Although Liverpool maintained their 100 per cent winning record but they were even more tensed than they were against Brighton. No thanks to Alisson’s blunder that gave Leicester City hope of coming back.
99.9 per cent of Liverpool players and supporters may agree that Alisson was nonchalant about his ambition to ridicule the young Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho before getting embarrassed to end his clean sheet in a bashful manner: but here is to the few 0.1 per cent that blamed Virgil Van Dijk for the goal.
Roberto Firminho and his Brazilian teammate, Alisson, spoke in an interview in ESPN and were joyful to mention who actually made the error.
“It was a mistake… I talked to Virg(Van Dirk), it was not a good pass, but I was also totally able to kick the ball away”.
Well, when Alisson almost made a similar mistake against Brighton he claimed that it was part of Liverpool’s game. After making this error, he had no choice than to listen to himself as he also told the interviewers he would not be “stupid” to make the same mistake but he yet told the interviewers that playing like that was part of his game.
His Brazilian counterpart, Firminho affirmed to Alisson’s claims, saying:
“The pass (from Van Dijk) was not all that either. Alisson tried to fix it, but unfortunately it went wrong.”
A quick reminder: Liverpool fans largely have had a share of entertainment by their goalkeepers; not gainsaid but to remind the supporters how Karius told his fans that “no one is above mistake
