If there is one player who needs to adapt to Emery’s style of play as soon as possible to retain his place in the Gunners starting eleven, that must be Germany international Mesut Ozil.
The playmaker was surprisingly left out of the club’s Matchday squad last weekend, though, Emery reportedly claimed he was sick and wasn’t fit enough to feature against West Ham at the Emirates Stadium.
It was reported that the former Sevilla boss told Ozil to up his game, should he desire to remain one of the club’s integral players throughout this season.
However, the manager was seen having a private talk with the midfielder during training earlier today.
According to the Mirror, Emery and his stand-in captain were having a ‘father-to-son’ discussion while others are involved in fitness drilling.
Though the content of their discussion wasn’t revealed by the media outlet, both parties could be trying to settle their reported misunderstanding.
It was reported on Monday via Daily Star that the player had heated argument with the manager on training ground a day before their clash against West Ham.
Whatever it is they could be discussing, it will surely be beneficial to the whole team as they prepare to face Cardiff City on Sunday in their fourth match of the season.
It remains unknown if the German would be recalled back to the starting line-up or Emery would stick to the players, who helped him take his first three points since he replaced Arsene Wenger in May.
