Gunners opinion about Granit Xhaka

Unai Emery was a happy man following his side’s 3-1 win over West Ham yesterday.

The former Sevilla manager started the season with two straight defeats Manchester City and Chelsea respectively but he bounced back to winning ways with a two-goal victory over the Hammers.

Though the team won the third fixture of the season, Emery’s side were unconvincing at the middle of the pitch and that has made the Gunners fans called for Torreira’s inclusion in the starting lineup ahead of Granit Xhaka in subsequent matches.

Xhaka has been one of the under-performing players in the Gunners squad since the beginning of the season.

The player, who was lively during his first season at the Emirates Stadium, hasn’t shown any glimpse of brilliance under Unai Emery.

Though the Spanish gaffer gave him the chance to start against the Blues last week, he couldn’t justify Emery’s faith in him as he was hauled off the encounter in the 45th minute due to poor performance.

Having failed to prove a point to Emery and his backroom staff, the Swiss might need to be released to any club who are interested in his signature before the close of the window.

Should he depart the Emirates Stadium, Emery would give Uruguayan star Lucas Torreira, who has been wonderful during his cameo appearances for the team, the opportunity to start alongside Ozil and impressive youngster Guendouzi at the middle of the pitch for the rest of the season.
