Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Gets Unai Emery’s Backing To End Goal Drought

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will return back to his goalscoring form, that’s coming from the Gunners manager Unai Emery.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker has failed to find the back of the net so far this season but Emery believes the player will get back to form as soon as possible.

The Gabonese star joined the Gunners from Dortmund in a club record-fee last season and he immediately hit the ground running as he ended the season with 10 goals in 13 Premier League matches.

However, Aubameyang has failed to start the season from where he stopped last season as he has gone 90 minutes without scoring a goal.

He had many good chances to put the Gunners ahead in the game against Chelsea last week but all his shots and efforts couldn’t get past Kepa Arrizabalaga, who wasn’t impressive for the Blues during the encounter.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery has reaffirmed his confidence in the star player during his pre-match conference ahead of West Ham clash.

Emery said he believes Aubameyang will score many goals for the team this season. According to him, the player needs confidence to score a goal and once that happens, he will continue to find the back of the net throughout the season.

“Aubameyang needs to find the confidence, then to score and score another,” he said.

Just as Aubameyang, Danny Welbeck and Alexander Lacazette have are yet to notch a goal for the team but the former Paris St-German’s manager is undisturbed as he believes they will score goals aplenty.

“But I’m sure now that Aubameyang, (Alexandre)
Lacazette, Danny Welbeck, they will score more goals in here, for us, in Arsenal.” he said

Kieran Tierney

Arsenal will reportedly make a third bid for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney in the coming days.

This is according to the publication from Daily Record which revealed that the Gunners are preparing a third bid for the Scottish international left-back.

It was revealed that Arsenal will make another £25m for the player with better payment arrangement.

Arsenal had earlier made a second bid of £25m which included £7m in add-ons.

Celtic swiftly turned down that second bid which had just £18m in upfront payment.

Arsenal will offer more in upfront payment from the £25m to meet the financial demand from Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.

The Gunners have identified Kieran Tierney as their major transfer target in their quest to sign a new left-back this summer.

They had earlier made a first bid of just £15m for the player.

Arsenal left-backs Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Mineral were unable to meet up with what was demanded by club manager Unai Emery in that position hence the need to sign a new player for that position.

Kieran Tierney, 22, has been recovering from hernia and hip problems but he’s expected to be fit by next month.

He wants the move to Arsenal but the Scottish player won’t force the transfer.

Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi has revealed that he might need to quit the club if one thing happens to his career at the Emirates Stadium.

In his latest interview as monitored by the Daily Star, Super Eagles star Iwobi said that the only thing that would force him out of the club is the arrival of Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha which would lead to lack of first team opportunities in the new season.

Arsenal have been seriously linked with a move for Ivorian national team player Zaha this summer.

Crystal Palace have slammed the asking price of £80m on Wilfried Zaha amidst the transfer interest from the Gunners.

Arsenal recently had a £40m bid turned down for the player.

Wilfried Zaha is the top transfer target for Arsenal for the moment as manager Unai Emery tries to boost his squad with some quality players before the new season which starts on the 8th of August.

The 26-year-old has openly talked about his desire to leave Crystal Palace to his dream club Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal have been linked with several alternatives in the event that they miss out on Wilfried Zaha.

The Gunners have been linked with other wingers like Gremio FC of Brazil attacker Everton Soares and Barcelona winger Malcom.

Why Celtic Rejected £25m Arsenal Bid For Kieran Tierney

Kieran Tierney

Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol has revealed the reason behind the latest failed bid from Arsenal for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.

According to him, Arsenal recently failed with a £25m bid for the player despite the fact that it matched the asking price from Scottish champions Celtic.

The Sky Sports media personnel said that Celtic were unhappy with the add-ons accompanied with the deal.

Earlier reports had said that the North London giants made an initial bid of £18m plus £7m in add-ons thus totaling £25m.

Arsenal were denied with the latest bid as Celtic were not convinced by the condition attached to the add-ons which are centered on qualification for Champions League.

Gunners boss Unai Emery has identified the left-back position as the area to be strengthened ahead of the new season and Kieran Tierney is his top transfer target for the position.

The Scottish international player is presently out of action with a hernia injury but Unai Emery is still bent on signing him for Arsenal this summer.

The Gunners had earlier made two separate bids of £15m and £18m until the latest bid made earlier this month.

Arsenal have signed just one player this season after young Brazilian attacker Gabriel Martinelli was officially announced as a Gunner in the penultimate week.
