Alex Iwobi Is Enjoying Unai Emery’s Training Techniques

Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi has revealed his happiness for working with Unai Emery this season due to the training techniques the manager brought to the team.

It was reported that the player would be sent on loan to Serie A clubs this summer as Lazio and Torino showed interest in his signature but Unai Emery prevented the deal from materializing, claiming there are more qualities in the player that are yet to be unleashed.

Iwobi, 21, was left out of Emery’s starting lineup in the Gunners first game of the season against Manchester City, however, he was integrated into the first XI against the Blues last weekend and he justified the faith impose in him with a wonderful display. He also crowned his blistering display with a goal.

In an interview with the club’s website, the striker/midfielder revealed that Emery’s training drills have helped him regain more confidence and sharpness.

“It’s making me feel a bit sharper, I’m doing things with a bit more intensity. It’s not just for me, though, I feel like I’m helping the team a lot more. It’s benefitting me a lot more,” said the youngster

He further claimed that the players are being pushed to the limit in training unlike Wenger’s regime when training was light and without stress.

According to him, everyone are getting used to the manager’s tactics and training techniques because training sessions have been fun and exciting since the Spaniard took over from Wenger in May.

“It’s exciting times to be fair…Everybody’s enjoying and buying into the new ideas” he said

As result of his inspiring display against the Blues, the player — who wish to become the best striker in the team this season — is set to keep his place against West Ham on Saturday.
