Calum Chambers

Newcastle are reportedly set to return to Arsenal for the signature of Calum Chambers who is out of favour at the club and is expected to leave for the right offer in this transfer window.

This will be the second return for the Magpies after they earlier made a loan move for Rob Holding but was rejected by the North London club. Manager Mikel Arteta has been able to convince the English defender to remain at the club and fight for his place.

Newcastle are now hoping to convince Arsenal for the signature of Calum Chambers after Rob Holding disappointment and that seems possible with the Gunners also willing to let him go.

However, Newcastle must be willing to spend as their loan bid might not be accepted by Arsenal as a result of the need to let him leave on a permanent deal for £12 million.

It is understood that the North London outfit will not buy the idea of a loan deal and will only be opened for talks with any club that is ready for a permanent deal.

The North London club can boast of more centre-back in the team with the addition of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

English Premier League club Arsenal are reported to be in a transfer battle with a host of clubs for the signature of French Ligue 1 outfit Rennes striker Georginio Rutter in this summer transfer window.

Georginio Rutter is one of the most exciting young players in the French Ligue 1 to have been attracting interest from across Europe. The likes of Newcastle United, RB Leipzig, Lyon, and AC Milan are all lined up for his signature.

The battle for the signature of Georginio Rutter became intense after the clubs learned that he has rejected a new deal with Rennes and will be set to leave the club any moment from now.

It is also understood that the French side are unwilling to let him go for nothing less than his 10 million pounds valuation which most of his suitors are willing to pay.

Apparently, Georginio Rutter is not a priority for the North London club but no doubt that he will add to the options and bring in the competition in the team after Arsenal scouts gave a pleasing report of him.

His current contract with Rennes ends in June 2021 which makes it important for him to be sold this summer window or risk losing him for free.

Alexandre Lacazette

It has been confirmed that the future of French striker Alexandre Lacazette at Arsenal is far being settled following claims by manager Mile Arteta that the club is yet to open start contract talks with him.

This summer transfer window has seen the future of the former Lyon striker being debated with suggestions that he would be leaving as a result of the limited starting role he had last season.

Some reports immediately linked him with a move Italian Serie A outfit Juventus while others claim he is being wanted at the Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid.

Alexandre Lacazette has come out to dismissal of the reports, insisting that he is happy at the Emirates Stadium and will continue to respect the decision of the Spanish manager.

However, Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports that the French Man who scored his 50th goal for Arsenal in Saturday’s 2-1 win over West Ham United is currently not in negotiation for a new deal with the club.

The North London manager, therefore, noted that he is happy with the player but there cannot be any speculation over his future as the focus for the club is to make more additions in this summer window.

English Premier League club Arsenal have been told by Brentford that they can only have their goalkeeper target, David Raya, if they will agree to loan him back for the rest of the season.

The Telegraph reports that the Bees rejected a £10m bid from Arsenal for the Spanish goalkeeper who made 49 appearances last season.

It is understood that the 25-year-old is well known to Arsenal’s goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana because the tutor was with Brentford before moving to Arsenal in December last year.

David Raya is needed at Arsenal with the exit of Argentina shot-stopper Emi Martinez who has left the club to join Aston Villa after a brilliant performance that helped him deliver the FA Cup and the Community Shield. No doubt he left when the ovation was high.

Bernd Leno is now left as the only viable option as a goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium under manager Mikel Arteta.

With Arsenal looking to sign more players before the end of the summer transfer window, there is no doubt a new goalkeeper will be brought in.

It is understood that the Gunners are close to sealing a deal for Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson as he has passed the first stage of medicals.

Houssem Aouar

Arsenal have been told by Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas that they have the opportunity to sign their top target Houssem Aouar but that will not happen until they are willing to meet his £44 million valuation.

The North London outfit are confirmed to have indicated an interest in the French Ligue 1 star but they are yet to agree on a deal as negotiations are still ongoing. Manager Mikel Arteta has hinted that the club is still in the market to add more players to the team.

When asked if Houssem Aouar would join the north London side, Jean-Michel Aulas reportedly said No because the Premier League side had not submitted an offer yet.

Now it is claimed that talks have been opened between the two clubs over a deal as the 22-year-old is understood to be keen on a move to Arsenal.

Arsenal will have to wait till the last minutes to stand the chance of having their £36m bid to be accepted.

Houssem Aouar is an important part of the Lyon team that reached the Champions League semi-finals by defeating Italian Serie A champions Juventus in the last-16 and Manchester City in the quarter-finals.

Should he join Arsenal, he will be an automatic replacement to Mesut Ozil who is still around but has been frozen out of the team.

Ki-jana Hoever

Wolves have confirmed the signing of young defender Ki-Jana Hoever from Premier League champions Liverpool in a £13.5m deal.

The transfer was officially announced this weekend after the Dutchman penned a five-year deal.

The Reds will receive an initial fee of £9m for the transfer of the player, while the remainder is dependent on the fulfilment of the add-ons inserted to his contract.

Ki-Jana Hoever leaves Liverpool after two seasons as he failed to break into the Reds team during his time at the club.

The majority of his appearances in the Reds colour came for the youth teams.

Ki-Jana Hoever becomes the fifth summer signing at Wolves who failed to qualify for European football this season after finishing in 7th position on the Premier League last term.

They had the option of Europa League last season but crashed out to eventual winners Sevilla in the quarterfinals.

Wolves have been very active in the transfer window this summer after the club-record deal to sign teenager Fabio Silva from FC Porto.

They also signed Vitinha from the Portuguese Champions as the contingent from Portugal continues to grow at the club.

Matija Sarkic (Aston Villa) and Marcal (Olympique Lyon) also signed for Wolves this summer.

Liverpool Complete Third Summer Signing

Six-time European champions Liverpool have made their biggest signing of this summer’s transfer window following the signing of Portuguese international Diogo Jota.

The Reds have signed Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract to become a Liverpool player.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp always wanted to sign a new attacker to provide stiff competition for his front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Klopp was heavily linked with German international Timo Werner but the former RB Leipzig forward decided to sign for Chelsea ahead of the Merseyside giants.

Werner had talked about his admiration for Klopp and Liverpool but the lure of regular first team football played a major role in his decision to sign for Chelsea ahead of Liverpool.

The German attacker signed for Chelsea from Bundesliga side in a £53m deal.

Klopp and Liverpool also wanted to sign Ismaila Sarr from second tier team Watford after missing out on Werner. However, they were priced out of a move for Sarr thus leaving the club with the option of signing Diogo Jota.

Jota, 23, has been at Wolves for three years and was regarded as an important member of Nuno Espirito Santo’s team at the Molineux.

Other Liverpool signings this summer are left-back Kostantinos Tsimikas and midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

Barcelona Banned From Signing Liverpool Midfielder

Spanish giants Barcelona have been banned the club from signing midfield target Georginio Wijnaldum from Premier League champions Liverpool this summer.

La Liga officials have implemented strict financial guidelines on clubs in the top division this summer due to the Coronavirus Pandemic thus affecting Barcelona and their plans to sign players.

New Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman had wanted to sign Georginio Wijnaldum from Liverpool and Memphis Depay from French giants Lyon this summer but the Dutch tactician is unlikely to get his targets.

Wijnaldum and Depay both have one year left on their respective deals at Liverpool and Lyon. The two players were instrumental to the successes recorded by Ronald Koeman during his time as the Dutch national team manager.

Koeman left the Dutch job to take the managerial position at the Nou Camp.

La Liga’s Communications Director Joris Evers recently said that the football body has a new financial model that goes beyond the financial fairplay previously implemented by European football body UEFA.

Under the new financial guidelines, Barcelona will have to sell players to sign new players as they are struggling with an annual wage bill of €510m.

In addition, Barcelona also have to pay the same amount as the transfer fee to the Spanish government as part of the financial assistance to clubs during this Coronavirus Pandemic era.
