It was another match, another defeat for Unai Emery’s team who lost their second consecutive match to the Blues.
The Gunners had a very sloppy start to the game and they were made to pay in the 9th minute when Alvaro Morata broke his drought as slotted the ball pass Petr Cech.
The Gunners failed to up their game after falling down. The Blues grew in confidence as they began to mount huge pressure on Arsenal’s defence for second goals.
However, Maurizio Sarri’s men were – once again – rewarded for their impressive attacking display as Pedro scored a beautiful goal to give the team a 2-goal lead.
Having conceded two goals, the Gunners began to show some urgency in their display as they attack the Blues in full force.
The Gunners got back into the game via Mkhitaryan’s goal to bring the scoreline to 2-1 in the 34th minute.
The Albanian winger was on the ground to assist Arsenal’s second goal of the encounter. He passed the ball to Alex Iwobi, who put the ball pass Kepa Arrizabalaga from close range.
Some minutes to the end of the game, both managers made some changes but Chelsea changes were able to make the difference.
Second half substitute Eden Hazard passed the ball to Alonso, who made no mistake in putting it to the net with ten minutes left to play. The Blues held on the lead as they maintain their perfect start to the season.
As for Emery, it might be too early to talk of his sacking but he really needs to start getting results because his job is at stake.
