Ragnar Klavan

Ragnar Klavan left Anfield last night after reaching personal terms with Serie A side Cagliari.

The player joined the Reds from Bundesliga side Augsburg in 2016 but didn’t get much action throughout his stay with the Merseyside team.

However, in his first statement as Cagliari’s player, Klavan – who signed a two-year contract with the Serie A outfits – revealed that his former teammates played d huge role in convincing him to switching to the Italian League.

According to him, Mohammed Salah and Darijo Srna advised him to move to Serie A despite the huge interest from other clubs.

Salah played for Roma before he made his move to Anfield last summer. Just like Salah, Lovren spent sometime in Serie A before he joined the Reds in….

He also revealed that new signing Alisson Becker, who joined the Reds from Roma this summer for £67m, told him how competitive the League could be at the course of the season.

The player is hoping to rejuvenate his career at Cagliari after his unimpressive spell at Anfield.

He said he can’t wait to start life at Serie A. He praised the club’s fans for their warm reception and further promise to give his best for the team throughout the season.

The Reds are preparing for Crystal Palace’s challenge as they are willing to maintain their 100 percent start to the season.

Why Liverpool is the best destination for young players

English Premier League outfit Liverpool have been tipped to be the best destination for young players following the feat by manager Jurgen Klopp since his arrival at the club about three years ago.

From analysis, young players like Ben Woodburn, Danny Ward, Sheyi Ojo and Ovie Ejaria were all handed their various debuts at the Anfield by manager Jurgen Klopp and there is no doubt about how well they are currently performing wherever they are.

An argument can also be raised for Joe Gomez as one of the players who flourished under the German boss because he had been at the club before the arrival of Jurgen Klopp but never made any impact until he worked under him.

At the moment, Joe Gomez alongside Virgil Van Dijk have produced the best defence this season under the German boss and the same story can be said of Dominic Solanke who could not succeed at the West London outfit Chelsea until he joined the Merseyside club in the summer.

Dominic Solanke immediately became a bigger figure in England and no wonder Bournemouth had to pay as heavy as £19 million for the U21 England national team striker.

However, this history with Klopp is not only known at Liverpool but he had established that already when he was in charge at Borussia Dortmund.

Georginio Wijnaldum

It has been suggested that Liverpool have got a player who ought to be hailed at all time but that is not happening yet as others are given the praise ahead of him, as far as this season is concerned.

Liverpool legend Phils Thompson has stated that the Reds midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is the unsung hero in the current Liverpool side but that honour has not been given to him.

According to him, Georginio Wijnaldum has impressed the most so far this season despite having reasons to relent as a result of the summer additions which came as a threat to his position. The likes of Fabinho and Naby Keita were brought in but they could not relegate him to the bench.

The Reds legend recalls that there was a player in his time named Ray Kennedy who was not a favourite of the fans but the players in the team knew how important he was in the team, noting that Georginio Wijnaldum is such a player who should have his name top the team sheet.

Georginio Wijnaldum is hailed to be very intelligent and having the ability to deliver the best as far as his role on the pitch is concerned.

Aaron Ramsey

It is no longer news that North London outfit Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey would be joining the Italian Serie A outfit Juventus as an announcement has already being made by the club for a four-year deal.

The Wales international failed to agree on a new deal with the Gunners which is the reason why he would be leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Liverpool legend Ian Rush has claimed that he was told by the Wales international that the reason why he is leaving the North London outfit is to win trophies which are difficult to achieve with the Arsenal team.

The Reds legend stated that the former Cardiff midfielder had a number of offers from top European sides but refused to give them his nod because he was more confident of winning something with the Old Lady.

However, Aaron Ramsey will also be getting the financial benefit as he is now the highest earning British player abroad with reports that he would be earning £400,000 before task when he eventually joins the Turin club.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were interested in the signature of the Wales midfielder but he could not guarantee their position in the ranking of clubs with chances of winning every season.

The big mistake Chelsea made with Gonzalo Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain

In a bid to have a firing attack, English Premier League outfit Chelsea went ahead to secure the signature of Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus on a loan deal but with an option of a buy at the end of the season.

Before his signature, The West London outfit suffered lack of cutting edge in their attack with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud failing to deliver goals and that went a long way in affecting their season especially in the first half.

The Blues boss Maurizio Sarri had insisted in Gonzalo Higuain as the best fit to solve the problem at the attack and the player he wants to work with owing to their past relationship, a decision that was greeted by divergent reactions.

However, it has been suggested that the Blues boss made a big mistake to have moved in for Gonzalo Higuain despite scoring twice since he joined the club.

The Blues are told they should have moved in for Krzysztof Piatek who was in great form with Italian Serie A outfit Genoa before moving to AC Milan and he has been an unchanged figure at the San Siro.

Krzysztof Piatek has been scoring in virtually all games with their last game inclusive. That is what Chelsea were actually looking for.

Nick Pope

North London giants Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a summer transfer for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.

The Sun claim that the Gunners want to sign the Premier League (PL) shot stopper in a deal worth £10m.

England national team goalkeeper Pope was the first choice shot stopper at Lancashire outfit Burnley before his long-term injury layoff.

The 26-year-old has been relegated to third choice behind Tom Heaton and summer signing Joe Hart.

Tom Heaton has been in very good form for Burnley since he was reinstated into the team at the expense of Joe Hart by manager Sean Dyche.

He has been very impressive for a Burnley side that’s yet to taste defeat in the league since the turn of the year.

Nick Pope would find it hard to displace Tom Heaton who has been very impressive for the Clarets.

Pope could be the direct replacement for legendary Premier League goalkeeper Petr Cech who has announced his retirement from football.

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has revealed that he will hang his gloves at the end of the current campaign.

The retired Czech Republic international shot stopper joined the Gunners in 2015 from London rivals Chelsea and has won two FA Cup titles since he became an Arsenal player.

The decision Sarri must make to stop the criticism of Jorginho

Jorginho

There is no doubt that Jorginho is the most criticized player in the Chelsea team owing to his poor performances in recent times.

According to former Man United striker Dimitar Berbatov, Jorginho is badly treated by the fans and pundits for their criticisms of the player because of his kind of passes that is not seen as progressive.

The record has it that Jorginho has the highest number of pass3es in the Premier League but that has not been regarded by the fans because they are mostly backward and sideways passing which has not helped the team in going forward.

Berbatov has now come to the defence of the former Napoli player, stressing that he is a very good player but what is needed to be done is a change in decision by the Italian manager Maurizio Sarri to be able to bring the best out of the star player.

The former United player stated that Jorginho has been proven in Italy to be a good player, not9ing that what the former Napoli boss must do is to have French powerhouse N’Golo Kante close to him so that the best of hi can be seen.

According to him the job of passing and having to get hold of the midfield could be a more tasking job for Jorginhio.

North London giants Arsenal are one of the Premier League clubs interested in a summer move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie according to reports emanating from the media in Italy.

Italian media portal Tuttosport revealed that the Gunners want to sign the Ivorian international star and that they may have to pay as much as €40m to sign him.

The 22-year-old joined seven-time European champions AC Milan on loan at the start of last season.

He made his first team breakthrough with fellow Italian Serie A side Atalanta before joining AC Milan on a long-term loan in the summer of 2017.

Franck Kessie scored six goals in 30 games for Atalanta in the Italian top flight before signing a loan deal at AC Milan.

The Ivorian midfielder has become an important squad player for the Italian giants since his move from AC Milan and has found the back of the net on eight occasions in 59 league appearances.

AC Milan have the obligation to sign him for €20m permanently this summer and a move to Arsenal would represent a significant profit for the Italian Serie A club.

Apart from Arsenal, London rivals Chelsea have also been linked with a possible swap deal involving Tiemoue Bakayoko who’s on loan at AC Milan.

Why Chelsea under Sarri is different from Chelsea in my time, Zola

Zola

English Premier League outfit Chelsea assistant coach Gianfranco Zola has made it clear that this Blues team under manager Maurizio Sarri are different from the team he played in during his time as a player at the Stamford Bridge.

According to Gianfranco Zola, this Chelsea team are short in the way they react to defeat and that needs to be worked upon because it could cost them the entire season.

The West London outfit suffered a 6-0 humiliation in the hands of Man City which humbled the team. The Blues team were able to bounce back with a 2-1 win over Malmo in the Europa League but there are still doubts over the reaction of the team and the ability to play under the manager’s style.

Sarri had earlier blasted the players for being difficult to motivate before he claimed they had no idea about his playing style which remains a worrisome development for fans and pundits on how they will excel without knowing how to play the manager’s style.

However, Chelsea are hoping to bounce back with the Italian manager under pressure to deliver at the club or risk being sacked as speculations over his future is increasing by the day.

Kenneth Omeruo

Nigerian international Kenneth Omeruo has been a Chelsea player for many years but he has spent most of his spell away on loan to other clubs because of his inability to make the first team spot at the club despite the potentials he showed when he first appeared on the scene.

This may be time for him to leave as it is reported that he now has a lot of offers from clubs in Spain and Germany as it is not sure he would be needed at the Stamford Bridge again.

So far, Kenneth Omeruo has been loaned to Middlesbrough, Holland and Turkey before heading to Spain and there is no hope of his return back to the Stamford Bridge.

Suggestions are that Chelsea are not ready to stop the Nigerian international at the moment with offers expected to be submitted for his signature ahead of the coming summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old is enjoying a fine form in his current club at the Spanish La Liga and that has attracted interests from a number of clubs.

However, suggestions are that his current side Leganes will do all it takes to land him on a permanent deal an improved offer to be able to win the race for his signature.
