Paul Pogba

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba joined the Red Devils in 2016 from Juventus after spending some seasons with the Old Lady.

The 24-year-old Frenchman had earlier featured for the Red Devils during sir Alex Ferguson reign but he couldn’t break into the Scottish starting lineup.

Having failed to win Ferguson’s heart, the France international left Old Trafford for Juventus, where he established himself as one of the best midfielders in the game.

After his surprise turnaround, the player re-joined Manchester United In 2016 for £80m deal which was then the world’s most expensive player.

The Red Devils agreed to pay such huge price for his service due to his exploits for the Scudetto Champions throughout his stay at the Turin-based club.

The player’s weekly salary is another high price as he is being paid £200, 000 by the Red Devils hierarchy as weekly wages.

The Frenchman, who is being tracked by Barcelona, will be hoping to increase his wages when he would be discussing a new deal with the Old Trafford outfits in the nearest future.

His current contract will expire in two years time and Mourinho would be hoping to renew their agreement with the player before that time so as to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

He was on target last Friday for the Red Devils as they defeated Leicester City 2-0 in the first match of the season.

Adam Lallana

Fit-again Liverpool key man Adam Lallana has been tipped to break back into the England national team.

The English team are busy with the UEFA Nations League who will be facing the Spanish national team later on Monday for a return leg after losing 2 – 1 in the first game at the Wembley Stadium.

The Gareth Southgate team will be looking forward to having its best players in order to give the Spain team a good fight, with the Liverpool man tipped to be capable of doing more even if not at the moment.

Jordan Henderson has described Lallana as a big part of the Liverpool and the England team who can always make the difference with his creativity.

Henderson made it clear that the English man has been missed in the national team but noted that the situation has been helped by the varieties of qualities available in the Southgate’s team.

The Liverpool man also praised Tottenham’s Dele Alli and Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard who play similar roles with Lallana, noting that they have also showcased their creativity and have scored on several occasions.

However, Henderson will be happy to see Lallana return to show what he can do, not minding his age of the injuries he has suffered.

Why I am happy to have worked with Sarri at Napoli, Dries Mertens

Mertens Dries

Napoli striker Dries Mertens is one of those players who have missed current Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri at the club.

Sarri left the Italian club to the Stamford Bridge at the summer and was replaced by Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti has been praised by the club for doing a good job especially after he helped defeat inform-Liverpool by a lone goal in the Champions League game this season.

However, Sarri still remains in the heart of the players and is obviously being missed no wonder striker Dries Mertens could not hide it in his words when asked whom he prefers working with between the former and the present managers.

Mertens declined from saying he preferred one to another but the question was already answered from his lines when he said he “had fun” under Sarri.

He added that Sarri’s style of football was “practically written on me” because he had liked, enjoyed and embraced it.

The Napoli striker was quick to say that his comment has nothing to do with the current manager whom he said he gets along with as his manager.

Meanwhile, Mertens said he is happy at Napoli and has not considered any offer from any club, noting he has a contract until June 2020.

Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has withdrawn from the Wales squad ahead of their UEFA Nations League meeting with Home nation rivals, the Republic of Ireland.

Ramsey, 27, will miss the game at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin due to family reasons.

The former Cardiff City star had earlier featured for the team in Thursday’s international friendly game with former world champions Spain.

He captained the Welsh team on Thursday but could not prevent his side from suffering a 4-1 defeat to Luis Enrique and his players.

His withdrawal from the squad was confirmed by the Football Association of Wales (FAW) via a tweet on Monday morning.

He becomes the second high profile player to pull out of the Republic of Ireland game after Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale.

Wales manager Ryan Giggs has promoted Swansea City winger David James from the U21s as a replacement for him.

Aaron Ramsey earlier missed Arsenal’s Europa League away clash at Qarabag to be with his partner who’s pregnant with twins.

Wales manager Ryan Giggs and his players have their work cut out against their rivals.

They would be without their best players, Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, for the game in Dublin.

A win would be enough to take Wales to the top of their group ahead of leaders Denmark.

England vs Spain

England manager Gareth Southgate will make at least two changes to his starting lineup from the Croatia game when his side travels to Spain to take on Luis Enrique’s team in a UEFA Nations League clash on Monday night.

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson and Manchester City centre-back John Stones are suspended for the game scheduled to take place at the Estadio Benito Villamarin Stadium in the Seville part of Spain.

Both players picked up their second booking of the competition and will miss the crucial game as a result.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has played very well for the Reds and was one of the best players for England in the last meeting between both sides at the Wembley Stadium last month.

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford gave the Three Lions the lead off an assist from club teammate Luke Shaw before first half goals from the Spanish duo of Saul Niguez and Rodrigo overturned the result in Spain’s favour as they held on for the 2-1 advantage.

In the absence of Henderson, in-form Leicester City midfielder James Maddison is likely to take his place in the starting XI.

Spain vs England XI: Jordan Pickford; Kyle Walker, Joe Gomez, Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell; Eric Dier, Ross Barkley, James Maddison; Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane.
