‘He’s The Perfect Player’ – Unai Emery Wants £110,000-a-week Star To Remain At Emirates Stadium

Unai Emery

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has once again reiterated his desire to work with Aaron Ramsey this season amid numerous rumours linking him to Stamford Bridge.

Though the Blues can no longer capture him this summer as the window is closed, many clubs from Spanish La Liga could still snatch him from North London before the end of this month.

However, Unai Emery has told media that he isn’t keen on selling the Welshman this summer and he would love to work with him for the whole of the new season.

Ramsey, 30, is in the final year of his contract and Unai is hoping his employers renew the player’s contract before the end of the month.

While speaking to newsmen ahead of his clash against Manchester City on Sunday, the Spaniard said that Ramsey is an integral part of his team and it is important he remains at the Emirates Stadium beyond this season.

According to the manager, Ramsey is an experienced player who is needed in the team to give information on how the League operates to new players.

In his final word concerning the player’s contract saga, Emery revealed that the club and Ramsey’s agent are in talks over a new deal and they might reach an agreement before the month comes to an end.

Emery and his men faced a huge test on Sunday when they face Premier League’s defending Champions Manchester City, who defeated Chelsea 2-0 last week, in their Premier League opener.

Denis Suarez

North London side Arsenal are no longer alone in the race for Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona star Denis Suarez with West London side Chelsea joining the race.

Both London sides will now have to battle for the 24-year-old who is also interested in a move away from the Camp Nou for a regular playing time elsewhere.

However, there are suggestions that he might be allowed to leave the club if the right offer of about £15 million is tabled for his signature.

Denis Suarez is believed to be a good fit for both London side and he will be required to meet with representatives of the clubs to know the plans ahead for him so as to make a decision on where to be in the new year.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea are desperate for new additions in the midfield with the Gunners getting set to part ways with Wales international Aaron Ramsey at the end of the season.

It has been a good season for both sides with Arsenal going 22 games without a defeat while Chelsea have seen just two defeats in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the ambition of both sides is to qualify for the Champions League next season as they both play in the Europa League this season.

julian weigl

Italian Serie A giants AC Milan have joined Arsenal in the race to sign highly rated Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to begin as from the start of next month.

Italian news platform calciomercato claim that AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso has been given the greenlight to push for a move for the German midfielder.

It was also revealed that the Italians are open to a short-term loan move for the 23-year-old with the option to buy the player outrightly at the end of this season.

They see him as a better alternative to Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas financially.

The report claim that a move for former Arsenal skipper Fabregas will be too expensive for Milan.

The San Siro giants are light in midfield due to long-term injuries to the duo of Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura. To this effect, Milan want to improve their midfield options with at least a signing ahead of the second half of the season.

AC Milan have already crashed out of the Europa League and the priority is solely Champions League qualification for next season via the league route.

Apart from Milan, Julian Weigl has previously been touted as a potential signing for the Premier League duo of Arsenal and Manchester City.

Marvin Plattenhardt

Arsenal could make a move for highly-rated Hertha Berlin defender Marvin Plattenhardt when the transfer window reopens in few weeks time.

The Gunners have had defensive issues this season especially at left-back and manager Unai Emery is keen to address the situation.

Marvin Plattenhardt has emerged as one of the best left-backs on the German Bundesliga scene since he joined Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2014.

The 26-year-old rose through the ranks at fellow German side Nurnberg before signing for Hertha Berlin.

He has scored seven goals and 20 assists in 133 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Marvin Plattenhardt was part of the Germany squad that failed to impress at the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Germany were the defending champions only for the four-time world champions to crash out in the group stage of the tournament.

The Germans surprised finished bottom of Group F behind South Korea, Mexico and leaders Sweden.

Plattenhardt would almost certainly provide a lasting solution to the problematic left-back position at Arsenal.

Gunners boss Unai Emery has used six players in the left-back position this season and this is as a result of respective hamstring injuries to first-choice left-backs Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has hinted that he could sign a new centre-back when the transfer window reopens at the start of next month.

The Spaniard was speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Gunners’ final Group E game against Qarabag FC of Azerbaijan scheduled to take place at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

Unai Emery revealed that the signing of a centre back is high on the list of transfer targets ahead of the January transfer.

The former Valencia and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) manager also talked about the idea of recalling Callum Chambers halfway into his season-long loan spell at London club Fulham before adding that the duo of Stephan Lichtsteiner (right-back) and Nacho Montreal (left-back) should be able to do a job at centre back.

Unai Emery went on to talk about the duo of club skipper Laurent Koscielny and Kostantinos Mavropanos, who are just recovering from respective long-term injuries.

Arsenal defenders Koscielny and Mavropanos have not played for the Gunners this season.

The North Londoners are lean at the back for the away Premier League game against struggling Southampton on Sunday.

Both Shkrodan Mustafi and Sokratis Paoasthathopoulos are suspended for the game against the Saints after accumulating five yellow cards, while Rob Holding is out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.

paul merson

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has revealed the signing that would help to solve the defensive woes that have characterised the Red Devils’ season.

Paul Merson said that he will boost the ailing Manchester United defence with the signing of Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk.

The footballer turned pundit spoke about Virgil Van Dijk and Manchester United while he was on popular English media outlet Sky Sports ahead of the Red Devils’ Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday evening.

He described Dutch international centre back Van Dijk as the best defender at the moment.

The Red Devils are said to be in the market for a quality centre back as they bid to arrest their poor defensive start to the season.

Manchester United have been able to keep just two clean sheets in the Premier League this season after 16 attempts.

In addition, the three-time European champions have conceded a whopping 26 goals in just 16 Premier League games.

This is in stark contrast to last season when Manchester United finished as the best defensive team in the English top flight despite missing out of the Premier League title won by rivals Manchester City.

Several defensive targets like Toby Alderweireld, Kalidou Koulibaly, Harry Maguire and many more have been linked with the Red Devils ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Fernando Calero

Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a £10m move for a Spanish La Liga player ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window scheduled to start in the next few weeks.

This is according to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser via sportsmole.

It was revealed that the Gunners have been impressed with the performances of Real Valladolid defender Fernando Calero in the Spanish top flight this season and are ready to make a move for him when the transfer window opens.

The 23-year-old centre-back has impressed a great deal for newly promoted Spanish La Liga side Real Valladolid this season.

The Spaniard has a £10m release clause in his current Real Valladolid contract and he represents a cheap option for the Gunners in their quest to offset the loss of Rob Holding to injury.

Rob Holding suffered a serious knee injury during the Premier League clash with rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

He sustained the injury during a collision with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and he will be out of action for around six to nine months.

Since the injury to young English defender Rob Holding, Arsenal have been linked with several centre-backs including Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso.

Torreira was part of the Uruguay squad that reached the quarterfinals of this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Lucas Torreira and Uruguay crashed out of the tournament via a 2-0 loss to eventual champions France.

Arsenal and Sampdoria agreed on a transfer fee of around £26.5m in three instalments to secure his transfer.
