Liverpool Injuries
The injuries hit Liverpool hard in the final part of last season, and they already have some problems for the new season.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss most of the season due to a serious knee injury, while Joel Matip will miss the West Ham game because of a thigh problem. Ragnar Klavan is another doubt, but Joe Gomez should be in shape after a minor problem.
James Milner suffered a nasty head injury against Napoli last weekend but could play using a protective headband.
Dejan Lovren may appear on the bench, but he only returned to training on Monday after his World Cup efforts.
Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are more likely to participate as they showed up in the friendly with Torino on Tuesday night.
Alisson Becker, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri are all on the line to make their debut in the competition, although Fabinho is fighting a minor muscle injury suffered against Torino. Liverpool will make a late decision on the Brazilian.
Possible Liverpool line-up
The big questions are about the defense of Liverpool, with Alexander-Arnold probably preferred to Nathaniel Clyne as the right-back and Gomez hopes to join Virgil van Dijk in midfield.
If not, Nat Phillips could be online for his professional debut.
In the middle of the field, the question is which player joins Fabinho and Keita.
Henderson is seen as the favourite, although Milner, Gini Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana are options, while Klopp could also recruit Shaqiri or Daniel Sturridge to add one more man to his attack. Both have impressed during the preseason.
