Willian To Determine Star Player’s Future – Report

Willian

Isn’t it surprising to hear that a Chelsea player will determine the future of a Crystal Palace winger? That’s the situation Wilfred Zaha finds himself due to Sarri’s interest in his signature.

Having turned down an offer from Manchester United, Tottenham and Crystal Palace — who want to extend his contract — in favour of Chelsea’s offer, the Ivorian now face an unclear future as Willian seems to be the deciding figure in his proposed move to the Stamford Bridge.

According to reports, the Blues have received an offer from Manchester United for Willian services, but they are yet to give a positive response to the Old Trafford outfits.

Despite being reluctant to let go of the Brazilian winger, the Blues might eventually sanction his move to Old Trafford, should they receive an eye-catching offer from Ed Woodward before the close of this window.

As for Zaha, he is being tracked by Tottenham but he prefers a move to Chelsea but that will only happen if Willian is sold to United, that’s according to the Daily Mail.

The transfer media outlet are reporting that the Ivorian might need to rescind his decision because he could only move to Chelsea as Willian’s replacement ahead of next season.

Should the Brazilian decides to stay put at Stamford Bridge, then the 25-year-old  winger, who is valued at £70m by Selhurst Park outfits, will need to join another club, who are interested in his services as soon as possible.

England vs Spain

England manager Gareth Southgate will make at least two changes to his starting lineup from the Croatia game when his side travels to Spain to take on Luis Enrique’s team in a UEFA Nations League clash on Monday night.

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson and Manchester City centre-back John Stones are suspended for the game scheduled to take place at the Estadio Benito Villamarin Stadium in the Seville part of Spain.

Both players picked up their second booking of the competition and will miss the crucial game as a result.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has played very well for the Reds and was one of the best players for England in the last meeting between both sides at the Wembley Stadium last month.

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford gave the Three Lions the lead off an assist from club teammate Luke Shaw before first half goals from the Spanish duo of Saul Niguez and Rodrigo overturned the result in Spain’s favour as they held on for the 2-1 advantage.

In the absence of Henderson, in-form Leicester City midfielder James Maddison is likely to take his place in the starting XI.

Spain vs England XI: Jordan Pickford; Kyle Walker, Joe Gomez, Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell; Eric Dier, Ross Barkley, James Maddison; Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane.

Why I am not the best, Eden Hazard

Chelsea star player Eden Hazard has admitted he is not the best player in the world despite praise and claims made by his manager.

Giving reasons for his statement, the Belgium international stated that to be the best player in the world, you have to score the most goals and that might not be the case yet in his case.

Hazard might be Chelsea’s current highest goal scorer this season with 7 Premier League goals scored in 8 games but he has never won the league’s golden boot which limits him from falling in the ranks of the bests.

He, therefore, adds that manager Maurizio Sarri was right to have demanded more improvements in his game especially in the area of goalscoring.

Meanwhile, Hazard revealed that everything about football for the Chelsea’s Italian manager is all about possession, adding that the manager’s style differs from former club coaches, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

The Belgium star revealed that Sarri becomes angry if you don’t have the ball in five minutes as he wants the ball to move across all angles on the pitch.

Sarri joined the Blues in the summer from Italian outfit Napoli and has since changed the face of football at the Stamford Bridge with his introduction of possession football.

Transfer News: Arsenal Linked With Chelsea Midfield Maestro

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

North London giants Arsenal have reportedly been linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek ahead of the upcoming transfer window in January.

England international player Loftus-Cheek has found first team opportunities hard to come by at Stamford Bridge and he’s keen on leaving in search of regular football.

His best run in the first team came while he was at fellow London club Crystal Palace.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek spent the last campaign at Selhurst Park on a season-long loan deal from the Blues and he produced several impressive outings for the Eagles.

His form earned him a spot on the England team for this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

He was part of the Three Lions squad that finished fourth under manager Gareth Southgate.

Loftus-Cheek wants to retain his place in the England squad and the only way to play club football regularly hence his decision to seek more first team opportunities.

According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are interested in signing him on loan when the January transfer window reopens but the Selhurst Park outfit could face competition from London rivals Arsenal.

He could be a replacement for Arsenal contract rebel Aaron Ramsey who’s reportedly on his way out of the club.

Arsenal, Chelsea could do some business in January

Arsenal and their London rivals could be forced to do some business in the January Transfer window after Ruben Loftus-Cheek has made it clear that he wants to leave the Stamford Bridge.

The player has lacked playing time under manager Maurizio Sarri which he is unable to bear. He might at least, request for a loan move.

Loftus-Cheek’s decision to leave also bothers on the fact that he wants to have a return to the international stage after his successful loan spell at Crystal Palace in the last campaign gave him that opportunity.

Although, it has been reported that Palace will be interested in having the 22-year-old for another loan term but Arsenal are regarded as a strong contender for him.

A call from the North London club will be difficult to reject for Loftus-Cheek knowing the opportunity he will have to play at a bigger stage for the Emirates Stadium sides.

Arsenal are also expected to beat off interest from Everton who are also monitoring the situation to have the player.

However, with Aaron Ramsey seeming to leave the Gunners, there are expectations that Arsenal will push for a move for the player to help serve as a temporal cover for the Wales international.
