Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho publicly revealed that he told his employers to get him two new players before the end of the ongoing transfer market.
However, the Portuguese manager also stressed that he might be asking too much from the club’s hierarchy, so he is expecting only one signing to be done by the club.
However, he is hoping to get two players but he won’t be disappointed if one is what he gets before the end of the summer window.
Should he eventually get another player(s) to his team, it remains unknown the jersey number they would be given.
New boy Fred, who joined the team from Shakhtar Donetsk last month in a £52m deal, will wear the number 17 jersey.
Diogo Dalot, who joined from Porto last month put on number 20 during pre-season matches, though, it is unconfirmed if that would be his official jersey in the coming season.
Just like the Portuguese defender, third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant, who made his move to Old Trafford from Stoke City as a free agent, wore an unofficial number 13 jersey during the pre-season tour.
As at the time of this report, jersey number 10-which is seen as the most important number on the pitch – is up for grabs since Zlatan Ibrahimovic left Old Trafford for MLS League.
Number 16,26, 28 and 30- which were vacated by Michael Carrick, Shinji Kagawa, Morgan Schneiderlin and Guillermo Varela respectively – are all yet to be claimed by any player and they could be given to the new incoming players.
