Chelsea legend John Terry has debunked the rumor that claimed he told the Blues to sign Aston Villa’s defender Jack Grealish.
Grealish is being linked with top Premier League clubs this summer, with Chelsea and Tottenham tipped to be leading the race for his signature.
The North London club have signed just a player so far this summer but they are hoping to be actively involved in the transfer market before it shuts down on Thursday — 9th of this month.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will see Belgium international Moussa Dembele leave his team next winter as he has reportedly reached a pre-contract agreement with Juventus, therefore, the Argentine manager wants Grealish as his replacement ahead of the 2018-19 football calender.
However, report emerged last week that former Chelsea and Aston Villa defender John Terry has told Maurizio Sarri to make move for the strong and versatile English midfielder.
Just has he reportedly advised the Italian boss, Chelsea have turned their attention to the player and they are now ready to rival Tottenham for his signature.
According to Terry via his verified Instagram account, he never told Sarri to move for Grealish as he wants the youngster to play for the Villa Park outfits in the coming season.
The Blues are said to be monitoring Crystal Palace Winger Wilfred Zaha; Bayern Munich centre-forward Robert Lewandowski; Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey and Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
