Manchester United have been offered a chance to lure Belgian international Axel Witsel to Old Trafford, that’s according to German media Bild.
The 29-year-old has been a source of transfer speculation since the end of the summer world cup as he is reportedly linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund.
In one of the reports about the player’s future last night, via the same media outlet revealed that Dortmund are on the verge of signing the experienced midfielder from Chinese Super League outfits Tianjin Quanjian.
However, the report appears to be a mere speculation as Tianjin manager Paulo Sausa came out to debunk the report. According to the manager, Witsel hasn’t agreed to join the Westfalenstadion outfits and he still remains with his team.
However, Bild are now claiming that the Chinese club are ready to listen to offer from Manchester United manager José Mourinho for the midfielder.
According to the media outlets Tianjin are hoping to receive £17m from the Red Devils for his signature.
Witsel was an integral part of Belgium team- who defeated England 2-0 to take the bronze medals at last month’s world cup hosted by Russia.
Mourinho will now battle Dortmund for the midfielder’s signature if he must win the race for the Belgian star player, who wants a return to Europe after spending some seasons at the Asian country.
