Real Madrid star Matteo Kovacic has ignored the chance to play for Manchester United In the coming season as he reportedly rejected Mourinho’s £53.5m bid for his services.
The Croatian world cup star has initially revealed his decision to move out of Santiago Bernabeu this summer due to lack of playing time during Zinedine Zidane’s time at the club.
The 24-year-old appeared in just 21 matches for the Los Blancos throughout last season as he could not bench neither Toni Kroos nor Luka Modric from the Frenchman’s lineup.
It is believed that Chelsea and Manchester United are vying for his signature ahead of the upcoming season.
According to reports in Spain, the Red Devils tabled a £53.5m to the Los Blancos for his signature last week as the club’s hierarchy want to get Mourinho some top players before the end of the ongoing transfer market.
However, their bid has been rejected by the striker, who claimed he can’t cope with Mourinho’s playing tactics.
According to Calciomercato and MARCA, the player sees Mourinho has a manager who can’t bring the best from his qualities due to the Portuguese’ tactical approach to games.
Though Chelsea are not too involved in the race to sign the Madrid player, this is a great opportunity for Maurizio Sarri to make an official bid for the Croatian star as he no longer have any competitor for the player’s signature.
The Blues are desperately in the race to sign Lazio’s £101m-rated star Milinko-Savic before the start of next season. However, it is certain the Blues won’t release such a huge amount for the Serbia international
