Liverpool Join Chelsea And Manchester United In Kovacic’s Race.
Liverpool, who have signed four players this summer, could be announcing their fifth signing soon as they have developed an interest in Real Madrid’s attacking midfielder Matteo Kovacic.
The Reds are linked with numerous players but the Croatia international is the newest player linked to the Merseyside club.
According to Spanish media MARCA, Jurgen Klopp has set eyes on the 24-year-old after his failed move to capture Lyon star player Nabil Fekir.
Kovacic was a bit-part player with the Galacticos during Zinedine Zidane’s reign as manager and that seems unchanging under Julen Lopetegui, who is eyeing moves for highly-rated midfielders so as to improve his team’s display at the centre of the pitch in the next season.
As result of his uncertain future, the midfielder has reportedly revealed his desire to leave Santiago Bernabeu to a club where he would be given regular game-time he deserved.
However, the Reds will slug things out with United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Juventus — who are all said to be monitoring his situation
At 24, Kovacic really needs regular Actions so as to maintain his steady growth in the game and Liverpool are more than ready to offer him that next season.
