Mourinho Believes He Will Sign Toby Alderweireld This Summer.
Tottenham full-back Toby Alderweireld is believed to be heading out of the North London club this summer after failing to get much time on the field of play during the previous season.
The Belgian star was lively for his country in Russia as he helped Thibaut Courtois concede only seven goals throughout the tournament.
His overlapping runs to the opponent’s box was awesome and he was also good in the air.
All these attributes put together have convinced the Portuguese manager to make move for the player but his efforts to capture the player have yielded no results.
According to reports via the Daily Mirror in January , the Red Devils boss made an official bid for Alderweireld, who wasn’t in good terms with Mauricio Pochettino, but it was turned down by the club.
Another report also confirmed, some weeks before the world’s largest football fiesta in Russia, that United are in crunch talks with the Spurs for the player’s signature but the negotiations failed to yield any positive results.
However, the latest rumour over the left-back’s future claims that Mourinho is confident of luring the Belgian to the Theater of Dreams this summer.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Portuguese manager is planning to offer huge-money to the Wembley outfits for Toby’s signature.
Real Madrid ready to cheat Liverpool for Reinier Jesus
It has been reported that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen on the signature of Reinier Jesus ahead of the coming season but his wish could be jeopardized by the Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid as they are now ready to pay a huge sum for his signature.
The 17-year-old has been impressive and has attracted a number of interests from clubs across Europe with Liverpool and Real Madrid ready to battle it out for his signature.
Merseyside outfit were initially tipped to be favourites in the race for the signature of Reinier Jesus but with Real Madrid already showing big interest and ready to spend, their fate could be left to the decision of the player himself.
Real Madrid are known for snapping up young Brazilian youngsters, having been impressed with the capture of Vinicius Junior. They will now be encouraged to fight for Reinier Jesus because of the potential he has already shown.
However, Reinier Jesus has got a release clause of £60.5 million which is no big deal for the Los Blancos as the 17-year-old will be ready to become the most expensive player who is under the age of 18.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will pay more attention to winning silverware this season to be able to break the deadlock.
Liverpool told that Frankfurt they are still waiting for offer for £60m target
German Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt have told Liverpool and other suitors that there are yet to receive any offer for their target Luka Jovic, a club official revealed.
Luka Jovic has been on the radar of the Reds team for some months back and the Merseyside outfit made efforts in the last winter transfer window but failed to pull a deal through.
However, with interest coming up again from Liverpool and their long-term rivals Man United and claims that bids have already been submitted, Eintracht Frankfurt supervisory board chairman Wolfgang Steubing said it is untrue.
According to him, the club are yet to receive any official offer from the two English Premier League sides.
Luka Jovic has been impressive so far this season and was on the score sheet in his Serbia’s 1-1 draw against Germany on Wednesday, to add to the 15 goals he has scored in the German Bundesliga in 18 starts.
The club official stated that there have been speculations over the social media on his player moving away, noting that there is nothing close to that as he has not received any offer from any of the clubs.
However, this can be regarded as a call to the Merseyside outfit that an offer is being expected for Luka Jovic.
Arsenal Target Tipped To Become World Beater
Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has backed Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans to become a world-class player in the wake of his performance for Belgium in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Russia.
Belgium played host to Russia in what was the first game of their qualifiers ahead of the 2020 European Championship and Youri Tielemans produced a man-of-the-match performance to lead his country to victory.
His performance showed why the Gunners wanted to sign the 21-year-old during the winter transfer window before Leicester City secured his loan transfer from French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco.
He has scored one goal and provided two assists in six games for the Foxes since his transfer.
Reacting to Tielemans’ performance against Russia, Chelsea talisman Hazard told reporters that Youri Tielemans has what it takes to be a world-class player.
Eden Hazard backed his international teammate to be a world beater in the nearest future.
Both Tielemans and Hazard were on the scoresheet for Belgium against the Russians.
Tielemans scored the opening goal of the game on 14 minutes before Denis Cheryshev equalised for the Russians two minutes later following an uncharacteristic error from Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Hazard scored a second goal for Belgium from the spot on the stroke of halftime before the Chelsea talisman wrapped up the 3-1 win for the Red Devils in the 88th minute.
Rashford Has One Weakness – Club Legend Rooney
Manchester United legend has pointed out the weakness in the game of Marcus Rashford.
The former Red Devils striker told popular British radio TalkSport the only weakness that Rashford has is his lack of aerial prowess.
Rooney urged his former Manchester United teammate to work on his aerial ability to become a complete striker.
Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney were teammates at Manchester United until the latter left for Everton in 2017 upon the expiration of his then Red Devils contract.
He spent some months at Everton following his sensational return to the club before signing for Major League Soccer (MLS) club D.C. United last year.
Manchester United striker Rashford is widely regarded as one of the best young players on the European football stage but the 21-year-old struggled to live up to that status in the first half of this season while Jose Mourinho was still the Manchester United manager.
He scored just two goals in the first four months of the season with Mourinho in charge of the team.
Mourinho’s dismissal and the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the interim Manchester United manager has coincided with the good run of form shown by Rashford.
He has scored 10 goals in all competitions in just three months under the aforementioned Solskjaer.
Euro 2020 Qualifiers: Ex-Man Utd Winger Praised For Netherlands Impact
Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman has praised the impact of former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay after his sensational performance against Belarus in the first game of their Euro 2020 qualifiers.
Former Everton manager Koeman showered high praise on Depay in his post-match reaction with media outlet NOS after his Netherlands side trashed Belarus 4-0 in Amsterdam.
Ronald Koeman was not too happy with the performance of his team but he singled out the aforementioned Depay for special praise.
Memphis Depay has resurrected his career at French Ligue 1 club Lyon following a difficult two years at Premier League giants Manchester United.
The Dutch winger signed for Manchester United in 2015 and Depay endured a largely unfruitful spell at the club until he left the club for Lyon in January 2017.
Manchester United have a buyback clause in the contract that took Memphis Depay to Lyon.
Depay gave the Netherlands the lead against the Belarusians inside the first minute before providing the assist for the second goal scored by Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
The in-form winger went on to add a third goal for the Netherlands from the spot before providing his second assist of the game for Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk to wrap up the convincing victory for the three-time World Cup finalists.
Origi tells Klopp what he can do for the team
Belgian forward and Liverpool star Divock Origi has told the manager, Jurgen Klopp that he is ready to play for the team and also play from any position.
The early part of the season was not a good one for the Belgian forward as he was not considered for first-team role owing to the competition in the Liverpool attack but the situation seems to be improving now as he is now being considered with a number of appearances in the past few weeks.
Divock Origi had made efforts to leave the club especially in the last winter transfer window but he was stopped by the German boss who claims to have a big need for him as an option on the pitch.
With his new fate at the club, Divock Origi is now being considered in games but not in the middle where he is used to playing but he is okay with that and has told the manager he can deliver good performances.
According to him, he is focused on helping the team win and achieve the aim of the Premier League title at the end of the season, stressing that he enjoys linking up with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in the attack.
Sarri still has a player who believes in his ability
West London outfit Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been under fire with his job speculated to be on the line as a result of the defeats, most especially the 2-0 suffered against Everton before the international break.
A number of names have been linked with his job, including club legend Frank Lampard and Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo as it is speculated that he could be sacked by the club owner Roman Abramovich before the end of the international break.
However, Chelsea midfielder Matteo Kovacic stands with the Italian boss as he noted that Maurizio Sarri is a great personality who has football in his mind.
He noted that the issue Maurizio Sarri is facing that eh Stamford Bridge is that most of the players are already used to a particular system of play and it would be difficult to change it within a short period of time.
Matteo Kovacic said the former Napoli boss is making efforts to play good football so that he can win trophies.
However, Matteo Kovacic is currently on loan in the Blues team from Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid and there are suggestions he could return back, especially if Maurizio Sarri does not keep his job at the end of the season.
Arsenal Defender Targets Regular First Team Football
Arsenal defender Stephan Lichtsteiner has revealed that his focus is to play regular football ahead of the 2020 European Championship.
The 35-year-old has not seen much football at Arsenal for the past one month but the Swiss international star insists that he’s happy at the club.
Stephan Lichtsteiner went on to hint that he could leave the club in search of regular football.
The former Juventus right-back talked about Arsenal and the need for regular football in a chat with media portal Neue Zurcher Zeitung.
Stephan Lichtsteiner became an Arsenal player last summer after joining on a free transfer.
The Swiss international right-back signed for the Gunners as a free agent shortly after the expiration of his contract at Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
He was the first signing of the Unai Emery era at Arsenal.
Unai Emery was appointed the Arsenal manager at the start of the season as a replacement for long-serving boss Arsene Wenger who had resigned at the end of last season despite the fact that he had one year left on his then contract.
Stephan Lichtsteiner has already started the discussions over an extension to the one-year contract he signed at the club upon the request of Unai Emery but the defender could still leave the club in search of regular football.
Big hope for Chelsea youngster after claim
There is hope of a bright future for West London outfit Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen at the Stamford Bridge with the playing time he has been getting so far this season.
At 22, Andreas Christensen has been able to earn 19 appearances for Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri which makes it a big hope for him to rise higher at the club in the future.
This development has made the star player happy and he has reflected on all the positives so far, especially after a slow start under former manager Antonio Conte.
Andreas Christensen noted that the season has been full of ups and down because he started slow with little games but he is beginning to get the call from the Italian manager and there are hopes he will get more appearances.
However, he admits the competition for playing time has not been an easy one due to the trust David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger has got before the Italian boss.
Meanwhile, Andreas Christensen might not be regarded as a player for now, but suggestions are that he will form a part of the club’s future with the hope that the defence would be built around him someday.
What Liverpool title win means to Rooney
Liverpool and Man United have held a rivalry culture for so many years and there is no hope of it coming to an end especially as it extends to the clubs legends that still carry the contest between both sides at heart.
This is the reason why Man United legend Wayne Rooney sees it as a nightmare if the Merseyside outfit ends up lifting the Premier League title at the end of the season ahead of Man City.
The rivalry seems to get more to the former Red Devils striker because he was once at Everton where he also had Merseyside rivalry with the Red team.
However, the manager Jurgen Klopp team are now in the top spot of the Premier League table ahead of Man City with just seven games left until the end of the season which suggests that they could just be the winner.
This will not go down well with Wayne Rooney as he hints that he will not be able to bear the pain, insisting that he prefers their Manchester City rivals to celebrate with the trophy at the end of the day.
Meanwhile, the Reds team have not won the league title for the past 29 years and they are hoping they can break the deadlock this season.
