Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich no doubt transformed Chelsea into a big club with his billions. The West London club have been able to win various trophies and have paraded some of the best players in the world.
However, things seems to be changing in recent times. The Stamford Bridge club struggle to spend big on players, and are not guaranteed Champions League football anymore.
Unfortunately, some other top sides are set to take advantage of Chelsea’s current woes by tempting away some of their best players – one of such is Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United, and one of such players is France midfielder N’Golo Kante.
The Frenchman has won the heart of everyone in the premier league since he joined Leicester City 3 years ago. He helped the foxes with the premier league trophy before winning another at Chelsea the following season.
Right now, there are reports Manchester United are set to splash some whopping £100m to lure him to Old Trafford, and that they are ready to pay him over £300,000 each week at the Theater of Dreams.
Manchester United finalised a deal for Fred some days back to replace Michael Carrick who hung his boots at the end of last season. Although Belgium international Marouane Fellaini has made a u-turn and has signed a new contract with the red devils, it is understood manager Jose Mourinho is ready to go ahead with the signing of a second midfielder before the closure of the ongoing summer transfer window.
Kante is a midfielder every manager loves. He is a hardworking and strong player – the Mourinho type of player.
EPL: De Gea ‘May Be Sacrificed In Summer’ For This Reason
Manchester United could sacrifice one of their best players in the summer according to the Daily Mirror.
David De Gea is the first choice goalkeeper at Manchester United and the Spaniard is one of the best players in the Red Devils squad.
It was revealed that De Gea could be sold as Manchester United try to raise money for new players this summer.
Spanish international shot stopper David De Gea signed a new contract at the club in September 2019 until the summer of 2023 but the emergence of Dean Henderson means that his position as the first choice could be under threat from the young goalkeeper.
Dean Henderson has been very impressive during his loan spell with Sheffield United who are the surprise package in this season’s Premier League.
Sheffield United is in the mix for European qualification via the Premier League.

Dean Henderson had spent last season on loan at Sheffield United from Manchester United as he helped them to secure promotion from the English Championship at the end of the last campaign.
He then extended his loan spell into this season. The English shot stopper has kept nine clean sheets in goal for Sheffield United and only two goalkeepers have kept more.
Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope and Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker are the only ones who have kept more clean sheets (10) than Dean Henderson. Manchester United also have the option of Sergio Romero who’s the best second choice goalkeeper in the Premier League.
In the end, Manchester United may not sell David De Gea to raise funds especially if Paul Pogba eventually leaves this summer. The French midfielder has one year remaining plus an additional year.
Juventus and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are long-term admirers for David De Gea who came close to joining Real Madrid five years ago.
Europa League: Confirm Arsenal Starting Lineup vs Olympiacos
Arsenal already have one foot in the last 16 of the Europa League ahead of their last 32 second leg meeting with Greek club Olympiacos at home.
The Gunners have done the bulk of the job in the first leg which ended in a 1-0 win courtesy the strike from Alexandre Lacazette in the last ten minutes of the game.
Arsenal need to avoid defeat in the second leg to join Rangers in the last 16 of the Europa League for this season.
The first leg saw the Gunners become only the second team to beat Olympiacos at home this season after German champions Bayern Munich.
Arsenal have been much improved under new manager Mikel Arteta who has spent just two months in the role. Under his watch, Arsenal have won the last three games in all competitions.
The run started with the 4-0 thrashing of Newcastle United at home before the aforementioned first leg clash at the home of Olympiacos ended in another victory.

Arteta and Arsenal made it three wins in the space of a week following the hard fought victory over Everton at home. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice as the Gunners came from behind to beat the Toffees 3-2 at home.
Those wins have put the Gunners on the right track as they try to achieve their objective for the season. Arsenal want Champions League football for next season plus at least one trophy.
For the Olympiacos game at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal manager Arteta is not expected to make wholesale changes though Sead Kolasinac is expected to miss the game after his shoulder injury from the Everton game. Bukayo Saka came on for him during that game and he’s expected to deputise for him again for the clash with the Greek club.
Arsenal XI vs Olympiacos: Bernd Leno; Hector Bellerin, David Luiz, Shkrodan Mustafi, Bukayo Saka; Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira, Mesut Ozil; Gabriel Martinelli, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Europa League: Confirm Man United Starting Lineup vs Club Brugge
Manchester United have work to do before they can secure a place in the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League for this season.
The Red Devils would be hoping to join Scottish giants Rangers in the final 16 of the competition when they host Belgian top flight side Club Brugge at the Theatre of Dreams on Thursday night.
Scottish Premiership outfit Rangers became the first club to qualify for the Europa League last 16 after the 4-2 aggregate win over Sporting Braga of Portugal.
Rangers beat their Portuguese opponents in both the first and second legs.
Rangers came from two goals down in the first leg to win 3-2 at home before Ryan Kent scored the only goal of the game to give the former Scottish champions a 1-0 away win over Braga.

Manchester United are heavy favourites to join Rangers in the next stage of the competition at the expense of Club Brugge who took the lead in the first leg last week through Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis before Anthony Martial equalised for his team to secure a credible 1-1 draw away from home.
Manchester United are bidding to win the Europa League this season for the second time in their history after the triumph of the 2016/17 under the guidance of Jose Mourinho who’s now the Tottenham Hotspur manager.
Ahead of the game, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not expected to make many changes from the starting lineup for the Watford game which ended in a 3-0 win for the Red Devils.
Scott McTominay returned from injury for that Watford game and he’s pushing for a return to the starting lineup for the Club Brugge clash.
Probable Manchester United vs Club Brugge (4-3-3): David De Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Nemanja Matic, Fred, Bruno Fernandes; Daniel James, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial.
Man Utd Chief Ed Woodward Plotting Three Transfers Plus Jack Grealish Signing
Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward has come under heavy criticism from the fans in recent weeks and he’s ready to make amends this summer.
Ed Woodward is said to be targeting at least four players in the summer according to the Daily Express.
He started the good work in the January transfer window especially with the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon and the Portuguese international has made a good start to his career at the club with one goal and two assists in three league games.
Manchester United paid an initial fee of £47m for Bruno Fernandes and that transfer fee could rise to the £68m mark depending on add-ons and bonuses.
Manchester United were unable to sign Erling Haaland who opted for Borussia Dortmund and has been a revelation for the German Bundesliga club with 12 goals in his eight games at the Signa Iduna Park.

The Red Devils eventually settled for the loan transfer of Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenshua in the Chinese Super League.
Odion Ighalo was specifically signed as cover for the injured Marcus Rashford who’s the leading goalscorer for the Red Devils this season with 19 goals in all competitions.
Ed Woodward wants to sign three players this summer in addition to Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish.
Manchester United have made Jack Grealish one of their major targets for this summer and recent reports claimed that the Red Devils want to pay £70m for him and that the player has given the club the permission to push for a deal.
The club will also target a new defensive midfielder this summer especially with Serbian international Nemanja Matic leaving the club this summer when his contract expires.
A new striker and possibly the fullback positions are also on the agenda for Manchester United this summer.
Real Madrid Youngster On Radar Of Manchester United
Young Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard is the latest midfielder to appear on the radar of Premier League giants Manchester United.
This is according to the latest reports from the stables of El Diario Vasco which said that Martin Odegaard has been watched by the Premier League team on multiple occasions.
It was said that Marcel Bout has seen the player in action on a number of occasions this season.
Marcel Bout is the head of scouts at Manchester United.
Martin Odegaard is a Real Madrid player but he’s presently on loan at fellow Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad.
He has scored seven goals for Real Sociedad this season including the strike against his parent club Real Madrid in the Spanish Copa Del Rey.

Martin Odegaard scored one of the goals as Real Madrid were beaten 4-3 at home by Real Sociedad in the quarterfinals of the competition.
The 21-year-old is expected to return to Real Madrid this summer at the end of his loan spell with Real Sociedad.
Manchester United are expected to strengthen their midfield this summer and Martin Odegaard could be the man for the job.
The Red Devils need to sign a new quality midfielder despite the signing of Bruno Fernandes last month. This is due to the imminent exits of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.
Serbian international Matic has few months left on his contract at Old Trafford and he would be a free agent this summer.
On his part, Paul Pogba has a year remaining on his Manchester United deal plus the clause of an additional year.
Pogba is fed up with life in Manchester and he’s expected to leave the Red Devils this summer. The French World Cup winner has barely featured for his team this season and that’s due to a persistent ankle issue.
Man Utd Tipped To Sign Player Similar To Liverpool star Van Dijk
Manchester United have been backed to sign a top player to complement Harry Maguire at the heart of their defence by footballer turned pundit Garth Crooks.
Crooks is a pundit with BBC and he’s adamant that Three Lions of England player Harry Maguire needs a new quality centre back partner this summer despite the recent improvement shown by Manchester United defensively.
The Red Devils have not conceded a goal in each of their last three games in the Premier League.
The defensive showing has propelled Manchester United to a return of seven points from three league games thus taking the team to fifth spot on the table and three points off Chelsea who occupy fourth place on the Premier League log at the moment.
Harry Maguire became the world’s most expensive defender last summer after the Red Devils splashed the sum of £80m on him. He was signed from Leicester City after two seasons with the Foxes.

He has played with three centre backs since his time at Manchester United.
Phil Jones, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have all taken turns to partner Harry Maguire who’s obviously the first choice central defender at Old Trafford.
Garth Crooks wants Manchester United and chief executive Ed Woodward to sign a new centre back to partner Harry Maguire and that the new player should be similar to Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk.
Dutch international Van Dijk has been the benchmark for defenders in recent times after his stunning adaptation to life at Liverpool upon his transfer to the club in January 2018.
He held the record for the most expensive defender in the history of mankind for many months before it was broken by the aforementioned Maguire.
Liverpool paid £75m to sign Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton around two years ago and the player has more than justified that price tag.
Man United Backed To Sign 200-Goal Striker This Summer
Manchester United legend Robin Van Persie has backed the club’s pursuit of Edinson Cavani who plays his club football for French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
Robin Van Persie told SportBible that Edinson Cavani has shown that he’s a regular and consistent goalscorer for both club and country for the best part of the last decade.
Edinson Cavani has scored regularly for the Uruguayan national team over the last decade in addition to clubs like Palermo, Napoli and PSG.
He has scored 200 goals for his club PSG thus making him the leading goalscorer in the history of the club ahead of AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Edinson Cavani tried to leave PSG in the January transfer window but the French capital club wanted him to stay until the summer as they fight for major honours in four competitions namely the French League Cup, French Cup, Champions League and the French Ligue 1.

He has few months left on his PSG contract which gives him around £360,000 on a weekly basis.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid were all interested in him though PSG only received bids from one club and that was Spanish club Atletico Madrid.
They had some bids rejected by PSG who wanted more money for the player despite the fact that he has few months left on his contract.
Robin Van Persie believes that Edinson Cavani will make a big impact at Manchester United if the club can secure his free transfer signing in the summer.
The former Dutch international knows all about making a big impact at Old Trafford after he fired the Red Devils to their last Premier League title.
Van Persie had controversially joined Manchester United from Arsenal in a £24m deal in the summer of 2012 and he went on to score 26 league goals to propel his new team to the title in his first season.
EPL: Man United Identify Replacement For Outgoing Paul Pogba
Manchester United have resigned to the fact that star player Paul Pogba could leave the club this summer despite the reluctance to let him walk out of the Old Trafford door.
Paul Pogba has been at Manchester United for four years since his then world-record move of £89m.
The Frenchman joined the Red Devils for the second time after a four-year stint at Italian champions Juventus.
He had left Manchester United for the Italians as a teenager.
Pogba has one year left on his current deal at Old Trafford with the option of another year and the general consensus is that the player will leave the club this summer for a new challenge.
Former club Juventus and Real Madrid are some of the options at his disposal.
He has hardly played for Manchester United this season and that’s down to a troublesome ankle problem sustained during the first month of this campaign.

Pogba underwent surgery on that troublesome ankle earlier this year and he’s gradually closing in on a return.
The French international has played in just seven league games and eight games in total this season.
With his future in serious doubt, Manchester United officials have lined up a replacement for him in Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish who has been one of the best playmakers in the Premier League this season.
This is according to the Manchester Evening News (MEN).
It was also revealed that the player has a £45m release clause in his contract at Aston Villa.
Jack Grealish has been in very good form for Aston Villa this season and he’s in line to make the England squad for next month’s friendly games.
He has scored seven goals plus six assists in the Premier League. Jack Grealish has been involved in 38% of all the Aston Villa goals in the league this season.
