Liverpool and Manchester United have been at loggerheads since the start of this summer transfer period and they are once again set for another tussle.
The Red Devils were the initial suitor for Fabinho’s signature, to the surprise of many fans, Liverpool came from behind to complete a €52.5m move for the Brazilian.
Just as Klopp, Mourinho came from behind to capture Fred’s signature after reports claimed that the Merseyside club had already reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk for the midfielder’s signature.
However, both managers are once again set to rival themselves for Switzerland star Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.
Liverpool were earlier linked with a move for the Swiss playmaker but the Sun are claiming that Mourinho is impressed with the player’s performance at the World Cup and he be making move to lure him to the Theater of Dreams ahead of next season.
According to the Independent in Tuesday’s edition of their transfer reports, Liverpool are willing to release £13m for the Stoke striker so as to convince the club to sanction his move to Anfield.
The Sun are suggesting that Mourinho is not willing to pay more than £12m for the 26-year-old playmaker.
When asked about his next destination, the Swiss international revealed that he would be staying in England but he can’t disclose his precise destination yet.
“At the moment, I can’t say anything. You are going to hear soon on my future.” he said.
