Stamford Bridge outfits are in contention to sign CSKA young midfielder Aleksandr Golovin this summer but they will need to slug it out with Arsenal, who are also on the player’s radar.
The Russian international has been a revelation for the European country so far at the ongoing world soccer fiesta having singlehandedly helped the host country to the knockout stages of the competition.
Though Russia were defeated 3-0 by Uruguay, their two back-to-back victories over Saudi Arabia and Egypt were enough to see them to the round of 16 where they would meet Spain, who were 2010 edition of the tournament that was hosted by South Africa.
According to reports, Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea are vying for the 22-year-old attacking midfielder due to his impressive showing at the Mundial.
The report also claims that the Old Lady are leading the race for his services but they might need to increase their offer if they must win the race.
The increment in his price tag is due to Chelsea and Arsenal’s interest in his services, CSKA Moscow are hoping to benefit more from the player’s sale knowing that Premier League clubs paid huge money for players.
Golovin is now valued at €30m, compared to €19m- his initial price tag before Chelsea and Arsenal develop an interest in him.
