Arsenal have reportedly sent their scouts to keep close eyes on three players, who they are hoping to lure to the Emirates Stadium.
The Spanish FA were quick to get a new manager for their team before the crunch tie but Lopetegui’s sacking have affected the team’s overall performances against the European Champions.
Portugal Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo made the difference by scoring three goals in the encounter.
However, the outcome of the game is not really important to Arsenal’s scouts who were in the stand to monitor three players targeted by the club.
According to reports emanating from social media, the Gunners are going to be monitoring Gelson Martins, Goncalo Guedes and Raphael Guerreiro’s performances for their respective countries.
It was reported last month via BBC Sports that Portuguese youngster Gelson Martins has terminated his contract with Sporting Lisbon.
His contract termination has automatically opened the door for the Gunners capture him without paying for his signature.
Though the Sun reports that former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger made a last-minute move to capture him by offering a €30m contract deal in January, the Frenchman couldn’t get him as Sporting turned down the offer, claiming the player is worth more than that.
As for Goncalo Guedes, PSG are ready to sell the Spaniard in the summer and Arsenal are looking to capturing his services ahead of next season.
