Arsenal changed their manager for the first time in 22 years, it is therefore expected that there are going to be huge changes to the team under Unai Emery, who was appointed as Wenger’s replacement last month.
After his appointment as Arsenal manager, the former Paris St-German boss wasted no time in letting his transfer plans known to the club’s hierarchy.
As part of his transfer plans, the Spaniard is hoping to improve the club’s backline by getting at least three defenders. He also revealed that the midfield position needs to be strengthened this summer.
The Gunners sporting director Sven Mislintant is also working hard to ensure that Unai gets the best players from the ongoing transfer market.
According to Sky Sports, Sven is in the final phase of discussion with Sampdoria over the signing of Lucas Torreira, who is highly rated by the Serie A club.
Torreira, 23, established himself as an integral part of Sampdoria’s team last summer with eye-catching displays at the middle of the pitch.
Though he has a £25m release clause in his contract with the club, Arsenal are ready to pay £30m for his signature, according to the British media.
If the report from Sky Sports is anything to go by, Arsenal will complete the defensive midfielder’s signature anytime from now.
With Jack Wilshere’s future not yet sort out, Lucas might be the player to partner Mesut Ozil and Mohammed Elneny at the middle of the pitch during the 2018-19 season.
Arsenal, Man United target finally sign Juventus deal
The battle between Arsenal and Man United is finally over following reports that French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain star Adrien Rabiot has joined Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
The two English Premier League outfits have been in the chase of the star player as they are both keen to add strength to their midfield.
Arsenal lost Wales international Aaron Ramsey while Man United have parted ways with Ander Herrera which makes them both long for the France international.
Adrien Rabiot had to part ways with the Ligue 1 outfit after falling out with the club and also having his family’s support to leave.
The Italian Serie A outfit have now won the race for the young prospect and it is claimed that he has penned a £120,000-a-week contract that will run until 2024.
This was revealed by Spanish news outlet El Chiringuito which claim that the wantaway midfielder will be at the Serie A champions next season.
However, the bid to land new players continues for both teams but the Red Devils seem to have gone ahead as they have secured the signature of Daniel James from Swansea while other new faces are still being awaited before the end of the window.
Arsenal face competition for Kieran Tierney transfer deal
North London outfit Arsenal are reported to be facing major competition for the signature of Kieran Tierney in this summer transfer window.
It is claimed that Italian Serie A giants Napoli are also desperate to land the player who is opened to a move this term.
It has been reported by SunSport that the Serie A giants have already made inquiries about the availability of the £25million-rated Celtic left-back despite being aware of the interest from Arsenal.
The report adds that Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti is a big fan of the highly rated left-full back and will seek to work with him in the coming season.
Kieran Tierney has won eight major honors, including two Trebles, and has made over 150 club appearances, which adds to his quality in the Champions League and Europa League while also earning 12 Scotland caps.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery will not have to depend on Nacho Monreal as a result of his age and the injuries he has been battling with which makes the need for a new player a necessary option.
Kieran Tierney is a young player who has many years to impress while he has already gained a level of experience which would be helpful to the North London outfit if he is eventually captured.
Arsenal handed major boost in pursuit of Torreira’s former teammate
North London outfit Arsenal now stand a better chance to land their star target and Sampdoria star Joachim Andersen in this summer transfer window.
The Gunners have been in the chase of the player for a number of months and they have now learned that he is open to leaving Sampdoria.
Joachim Andersen has opened the possibility of reuniting with his former teammate, Lucas Torreira at Arsenal after claiming that it is time for him to move ahead in his career.
While hailing the Italian club, their fans and the staffs, Joachim Andersen stated that he would wish to move on for a new challenge as he stressed that he has received a number of interests from top clubs in Europe which is already on his agent’s table.
Joachim Andersen added that it has been his dream to play in the biggest clubs in the world and it is already happening or him as he is being linked to a number of clubs.
It is now left to the Gunners to make a move for the star player if they must attain his signature this transfer window as other clubs are monitoring the situation and could submit a bid for his signature.
Arsenal target another Ramsey replacement
North London outfit Arsenal are still battling to find a replacement for Wales international Aaron Ramsey who has already left the club to join Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
The Gunners are therefore considering a bid for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, as revealed by Mike McGrath, a football writer.
Dominik Szoboszlai is just 18 years old, but he has been impressive enough to catch the attention of a number of clubs with Juventus and Lazio keen on him.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has joined the race for the youngster and it is hoped that he would be able to beat the competition by giving the young lad the promise of a first-team football.
Although it has been noted that Red Bull Salzburg are not ready to let go of their prized asset, they might let him leave if they have the sum of £15 million on the table for him.
The 18-year-old still has a running contract with Red Bull Salzburg until the next three years which makes the club in no rush to let him leave this summer window.
However, Arsenal are yet to confirm any deal but it would be hoped that the young star will be the first signing of the summer.

Newcastle United midfielder Mohamed Diame has agreed to a lucrative deal with Qatari club Al-Gharafa according to The Sun.
It was revealed that the Senegalese international player has agreed to a two-year deal with Al-Gharafa worth £100,000 on a weekly basis.
He will end his decade-long stay in English football with clubs like Wigan Athletic and Newcastle United.
The 31-year-old was formerly a transfer target for Arsenal while long-serving manager Arsene Wenger was at the club.
Frenchman Wenger left Arsenal last summer after over two decades as the Gunners boss and he has since been replaced with former Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Sevilla and Valencia manager Unai Emery.

Mohamed Diame is expected to join Al-Gharafa on a free transfer in the coming days after the Senegalese midfielder ran down his contract with the Magpies.

Mohamed Diame and Newcastle United finished in 13th position which is three places below the 10th place finish from the penultimate season.
Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez could follow Diame out of the door with the Magpies finding it difficult to agree to his demands of a new contract.
His current deal expires in few days’ time.
Arsenal Plotting Summer Move For Kieran Tierney
Europa League finalists Arsenal are eyeing a move for highly rated Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney during this summer’s transfer window according to the publication from the stables of the Daily Mail.
It was revealed that Arsenal manager Unai Emery has identified the player as his top left-back target this summer.
The Arsenal boss wants a new left-back this summer but he might need to sell some players due to the Gunners’ lack of financial strength.
The North Londoners have £45m to spend on players excluding player sales and they are keen to strengthen the first team in four major areas namely wing forward, left-back, midfield and central defence.
Arsenal first choice left-backs Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac were unable to convince Unai Emery about being the long-term solution for the Gunners in that position.
Kieran Tierney is a Scotland international who has proven to be a key player for Celtic in recent years.
The 22-year-old Scottish defender is a key part of the Celtic team that has won three trophies in each of the last three seasons including the last campaign.
Celtic won the Scottish Premiership title, Scottish League Cup title as well as the Scottish Cup title under the guidance of Neil Lennon who has been offered the managerial role permanently for the next one year.
Napoli Seal £4m Signing Of David Ospina
Italian Serie A giants Napoli have reportedly completed the signing of Colombian international goalkeeper David Ospina from Arsenal.
This is according to the publication from the stables of popular media portal Football London.
It was revealed that an official announcement won’t be made until after the ongoing COPA America tournament in Brazil.
David Ospina and Colombia made a flying start to their campaign with an impressive win over favourites Argentina.
The goalkeeper played the entire duration of the game and also kept a clean sheet for Colombia to win 2-0 in their Group B clash.
David Ospina has been at Arsenal since the summer of 2014 when he joined from French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice for around £3m.
The Gunners signed him shortly after his heroics for the Colombian national team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil.
Colombia reached the quarterfinals before they were eliminated by their hosts via a 2-1 win.
Ospina played second fiddle at Arsenal to recently retired goalkeeper Petr Cech for the majority of his Gunners’ career.
He joined Napoli on a season-long loan deal last summer with the Italians obligated to sign him permanently for £4m if he plays 25 games in all competitions.
The Arsenal shot stopper played 24 games in all competitions but Napoli still decided to sign him permanently.
Arsenal Receive Major Setback In Alexis Claude-Maurice Pursuit
2006 Champions League finalists Arsenal have been handed a big transfer blow in their chase for Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice (ACM) after the player preferred a move to Germany.
The young French player revealed that he wants to join German top flight side Borussia Moenchengladbach ahead of other interested clubs like North London giants Arsenal.
He made this known in an interview monitored by popular French news outlet L’Equipe.
Recent reports had claimed that the Gunners agreed on a deal with French Ligue 2 club Lorient for the 21-year-old at the third time of asking and that Arsenal are in negotiations for him.
On his preference for Borussia Moenchengladbach, Alexis Claude-Maurice said that the German club focuses more on the development of young players in addition to the fact that they have a good structure.
He added that the Borussia Moenchengladbach project is one that suits him.
Alexis Claude-Maurice is presently rated at around £18m by his club.
He scored 14 goals and also provided four assists for Lorient who missed out on Ligue 1 promotion in the last campaign.
The young French forward would have been the direct replacement for Danny Welbeck at Arsenal after the England international player was released earlier this summer.
3-5-2: How Arsenal Will Line Up If They Sign Joachim Andersen
North London giants Arsenal have been seriously linked with a move for Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen this summer as they try to sign a quality centre back.
The Gunners had one of the worst defensive records in the top half of the table last season and they want to rectify the situation before the start of a new season scheduled in almost two months time.
Recent reports from Italy claimed that Arsenal have made a third bid of €55m for Joachim Andersen and his Sampdoria teammate Dennis Praet though it remains to be seen whether that will be enough for the Italians to sanction the move.
Danish centre back Joachim Andersen will definitely add quality to the Arsenal backline if they are able to pull off a move for him.
Arsenal conceded over 50 goals in just 38 games in the Premier League and it was a big factor for the Gunners who missed out on Champions League football as a result.
The Gunners finished in fifth position on the league table behind the quartet of Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal starting XI (3-5-2): Bernd Leno; Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sokratis Papasthathopoulos, Joachim Andersen, Rob Holding, Sead Kolasinac; Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira; Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
